We need much more of this. Rittenhouse's mother should be in prison for her involvement with her son's actions because she drove him to these events and encouraged him to get in with radical terrorists. What do you think is going to happen when you are driving your teenager to be involved in riots, even if you think you are on the good side. It is a fucking teenager, and you need to be supervising them, and not leading them into violent criminality.

I wonder what the reaction would be if we applied to to federal fuckup's mom for all the people he has killed with his poison sammiches.

Oh wait, she is already dead, probably because she watched her son trying to think for too long.

Are you angry you couldn't come up with an insult to FF's mom? That is what it looks like to me because you are not above any of that shit.

Anyway, do you have any dead family members you want me to talk about? Just brag about them in public like FF does about his mom, and @Jenee does about UA. It is not like I know any of this shit without someone else mentioning it.

What if: Like with cars, we required all gun owners to be licensed, and to register and insure all of their guns?
I think you'd see people be a lot more careful and take a lot more personal responsibility if it was treated legally like a car.

The NRA doesn’t allow for talk like that. If people have to take responsibility, then gun manufacturerers could not sell as many guns.

Also, that would put an end to the biannual plea to gun owners - you must buy more guns before the liberals pass laws taking them away!!!!

Well they used to allow it. Back when they realized that responsible gun ownership would guarantee the secund amendment would stay in place forever. It makes a much stringer argument than "Well, that's just the way it was meant to be!"

Also, make them have to account for every bullet they fire not at a range, like a cop.
If they imagine having to look a bureaucrat in the face, and say "my girlfriend's dad told me to buzz off, so I was like 'I'll show him'" maybe it might slow them down a couple vital milliseconds.

The NRA used to be a very different organization prior to gun manufacturers having planted their people on the board or whatever part of the organization serves to set the direction for the entire organization. Now, it’s just another lobby for gun manufacturers.

What if you took your registration proposal, rolled it into a tight little tube, and used it to probe your colon?

My Walther is registered. I've been using a gun since I was 11. My gun is also insured.

I like bow hunting better than using a gun, but I love the Walther a lot. As a sport gun, it's unsurpassed.

There's a problem with responsible gun ownership?

    No, not in reality.
Someone like UA will happily register his car and insure it. He'll happily pay annual property taxes for schools when he doesn't have children. But ask him to do something similar for guns? Well, them's fighting words I guess.

Honestly, I kind of suspected as much :D

Still, it's funny to me. We have restrictions on free speech. Restrictions on assembly. Restrictions on voting. But as soon as you mention any kind of restriction on firearms, then suddenly it's abhorrent to the spirit of the constitution. Never mind that the people adamantly refusing to even consider gun legislation are often the same ones at the forefront of finding new restrictions on voting, speech, etc.

    Another civics lesson …

The second amendment was included becuase English law …, probably most of Europe, said only “the nobility” (i.e. the wealthy) could own guns. They were the only ones who could hunt. It … semi made sense a thousand years ago as England is an island and game would eventually become scarce.

the colonists would have needed guns to shoot game as well as predator animals - bears, snakes, etc.

It had nothing to do with the ability to own an automated gun that can kill hundreds of people before the police show up.

People forget that the whole point of including amendments was that... things change. The Founding Fathers knew that what worked today would not necessarily work tomorrow. Thus why we've more than doubled the number of amendments we have. Sone undo the b original constitution. Some actually undo other amendments.
So this idea that the second amendment is sacrosanct is ridiculous. It is a law document, not a religious text. It is not doctrine. It can and should be modified as the world changes around it.
