Yup. Wanting to do things that are worthwhile but difficult rather than jumping to the easy solution from the barrel of a gun must be either stupid or trolling.

Exactly what many of us have been telling you. Progressive policies which put more people in poverty. An entitlement mentality that leads them to believe they're owed... whatever they want, just for existing. The devaluation of human life and the natural rights of the individual. The decline of spirituality and the rise of superficiality, of materialism and consumerism. Popular cultural derision of education and profundity of thought. Hedonism as virtue, rather than virtue as its own pleasure.

Of course, practically speaking, the reason why 'elsewhere' doesn't have as many violent criminals as we do is because no single instance of 'elsewhere' with the exception of China has as many people as we do.

Not only as many people (let's go with criminals as a percent of the population) but we are a melting pot of cultures, ideas, ethnic groups, histories, agendas, etc. etc.

Exactly. Let's say you have a small room with 5 people in it. 4 of them are violent offenders. Compare that to, say, Michigan Stadium with 100,000 people in it, 10,000 of whom are violent offenders.

Gun control freaks would rather compare the raw numbers and claim that 10,000 violent offenders in Michigan Stadium, versus only 4 violent offenders in that small room, means that Michigan Stadium is in worse shape --

But they disregard percentages, where that small room has a population 80% of whom are violent offenders compared to Michigan Stadium's 10%.
