Actually, that's exactly what I did the last time OU went up to play Mizzou - OU underneath, Mizzou on top!
Well, at least we don't have to worry about them going undefeated and not being invited to the BCS championship game this year.
Damn, Washington gave USC everything they could handle. Granted, Washington beat a decent UCLA team earlier, and its nice to see Ty Willingham doing well, he got shafted at Notre Dame. But that's the second straight week the Trojans have had to stop a final game winning drive in order to come out with the W, and this time it was at home. The combination of inexperience and injuries is taking it's toll - if they don't start playing better they will probabably drop 2-3 games this year. A good year for most teams, but a big disappoinment for SC under Carroll. I was hoping for 11-1 and sneaking into the top 5 after the Bowls. Oh well...
Sigh...another shitty call by the refs upheld on replay. I'm referring to Peterson's alleged "fumble" that was caused by the ground. OU somehow led 10-7 at half, but they just don't have enough offensive weapons to complement Peterson. Texas didn't really look like a more talented team than OU, but for today they came out on top.
You win this round. Harold was definately your MVP. My team has certainly seen better days, unlike Flashlight though, I won't be abandoning them just because they're down. One comment about the alumni/students from your school that showed up... at the end of the game they were chanting overrated... I don't know if they've noticed but Tech isn't actually ranked right now, so calling us overrated didn't really make much sense. Oh yeah, and I was on TV twice today. Once at our tailgate party when TBS stopped by and staged a few shots with us, and once during the game the camera stopped on my section of the crowd. Both times I got calls from people saying they'd just seen me on TV. So who wants my autograph? Wreck'em Tech!
Sigh...I wish people would get over this. I haven't abandoned OU. I sat and watched every agonizing second yesterday. I want them to do well. I want all the state teams to do well. I went to OU for 5 years. I went to Mizzou 5.5 years. I attended far more football and basketball games at Mizzou than I ever did at OU. Maybe it's because while I was at OU, the team mostly sucked. That was during the Gary Gibbs era. I did meet Barry Switzer once though, and he signed my copy of Bootleggers Boy. In many ways I feel I'm a more legitimate fan of Missouri than OU. I even bought season tickets to the Tigers one year.
Oh, so Mizzou's highly-ranked defense forces 5 turnovers, but it's all the fault of Tech's QB? Sure, fine, dis the defense that just kicked your asses! Keep telling yourself that if that's what it takes for you to get past this game. We know the truth.
Texas Tech - never met a defense they knew how to play. The philosophy of "we can just outscore them" works when you're playing N.E. Maryland Polytechnic. But when they play someone with a decent defense, suddenly they have to rely on *their* defense, which is non-existant.
You're officially the worst winner on WF, congrats. You've showed about as much class as the other Mizzou fans that showed up for the game. Ya, this year you guys beat a bad Texas Tech, but guess what, that doesn't make you good. Beat a real team and get back to me.
My top ten at this point: 1. Ohio State 2. Florida 3. Michigan 4. USC 5. West Virginia 6. Louisville 7. Tennessee 8. Texas 9. Notre Dame 10. Auburn
Awwww, poor Tex, did the evil Mizzou fans steal his lunch money and make him run home to momma crying?
Florida is in no way, shape or form a national title contender. Texas does not belong in the top 10. Auburn does not belong in the top 10 - they've been looking for a way to lose the past 3 weeks and Arkansas finally gave them what they wanted, soundly drumming them on their home field.
