The 2nd best team in the country happens to have already played the best team, a corrupt BCS didn't think a rematch would generate as much money. I'd still put money on Florida to beat USC this year... Too bad there is no way we'll ever find out.
I don't think Michigan had any right whatsoever to the championship game. They get too much credit for beating an overrated Notre Dame team. Florida won the conference championship in the toughest conference in football. They beat like 9 bowl teams. More quality wins + Conference Championship = National Championship Game.
Oh, I'm not arguing that at all. Go back through the thread and you'll see me make several comments during the season about SC not playing at the championship level. All that aside, however, I think they'd clean Florida's clock.
Toughest conference in football? Only in the eyes of ESPN talking heads. The argument certainly didn't help Auburn a couple of years ago. If the SEC was regarded as the toughest in the nation by anyone outside of Bristol, CT, then Florida would have been ranked #2 long before now. Who exactly was taking Arkansas seriously? On their home field, they couldn't stay within 40 points of USC. Who cares if they beat up on Alabama or Mississippi?
Now that's an interesting take. The SEC is considered the toughest conference from top to bottom by almost everyone, everywhere. That doesn't mean the best team in the SEC is the best in the nation though. Which conference would you say is the best? Certainly not the Pac 10 or Big 12. The Big 10 might be in some years, but not this one.
Teams don't get better as the year goes by? Surely you don't think that OU team that squeaked by Alabama-Birmingham would've faired well against USC?
congrats flow... too bad Ash... here are some fun screen shots for you though. A Berkley beauty. Ags know how to make the best of a bad situation. Guy number 1: I have a raging clue right now! Guy number 2: Me too, my clue is pointing that way!
RAIDER!!!! POWER!!!! Greatest come back in a Bowl game, ever. And I know what is behind our victory, me. So the other day I printed up an 8 1/2 x 11 pic of Mike Leach's head to hang above my roommate's pic of Kyle field. I did it just for laughs, but it saved our ass tonight. We go down 38-7 and I knew we needed a miracle, so I turned it into a shrine to Mike Leach and low and behold the miracle happens. We lit a candle for every score we needed to come back and blew them out as we scored. Ironically the first one burned out on it's own right as we scored our 2nd TD of the game so we attribute that one to Mike. We then added a pack of Camels, a shot of liquor and a bottle of vodka... ya know what, words can't describe it, here is the cell phone pic:
[action=evenflow]checks ESPN....[/action] You came back? You fucking came back?!?! If I had only known I would have checked in after doing better things... That makes two of us defending the honor of the Big XII.
Jesus Christ, did Mike Leach make a deal with the devil at half time? I gave up and left. When my husband told me that Tech had won when I got back from shopping, I didn't believe him. I didn't realize they'd won until I watched the 10:00 news.
My folks were in Dallas on the way back from Shreveport, and I guess my dad woke my mom up partway through the comeback so she wouldn't miss it.
[action=Tex]holds fingers 1 inch apart[/action] We were this close to giving up and just going out to the bar... I'm so glad I stuck that game out.
Be glad that Bama beat you last year or they might try to snatch your coach. If they had a raging clue they would anyways. To be honest with Leach's style and personality I can't see him anywhere else but Tech.
Looks like the Longhorns are holding their own against the Hawkeyes. The pokes play round ball tonight, evenflow. Starts at 7.
I asked around once, and there wasn't much interest. Can the two fans of the two best teams in the Big XII keep it going?
I believe we can. I desperately need something to brag about and the new tires I just put on my car aren't really doing it for me.
Who are the two best teams? If you're thinking OSU and KU, you're forgetting another very potent group--Texas A&M. They're doormats no longer. They came within an eyelash of beating UCLA on the road.
