I hear rumours that the Tide is throwing their lot in with Oregon.

Doesn't surprise me. I pull for Auburn and anyone that plays Alabama. I despise Alabama fans and I want them to lose and cry at every opportunity.

I'm just honest about it. Every Alabama fan I know feels the same way about Auburn, they just usually hide it behind some overly polite bullshit.

Uh oh...Mike Leach is replacing Ralph Friedgen at Maryland,

That's a low-class move by the Maryland AD, firing the ACC Coach of the Year. Friedgen has done a good job and this isn't really going over well in the DC area.

Should we rejoice or mourn with the arrival of Leach?

And so Maryland hires Edsall away from UConn, Pitt is open but no way they take a free spirit like Leach after their debacle.

It's all falling into place... :pirateship:

I'll mail you the Leach picture if he heads that way. But I'll put a hex on it that will keep it from working against Tech. :bergman: :pirate:

I've seen that happen far, far to many times. :bailey:

In fact, a friend and I were watching a bowl game together when that came on. I looked at him and said, "You know that'll be your funeral, right?" He replied, "I sure as hell hope so, Ro-wl Tide!"

The word around the cooler here is Pitt's looking at Rich Rodrequiz. That'll make the Backyard Brawl with WVU a bit more entertaining.

So who to pick in this game? The team with a QB who was blatantly caught cheating and rewarded for it? Or the team with the running back who was arrested for domestic abuse?

Either way, SMU should sue the NCAA.

I go with the PAC 10 here just because I am tired of the SEC. Despite the slow start I still expect Auburn to run away with this thing.

    And you're right about SMU.

Well, Elwood is probably the happiest guy on the board right now. Congrats!

That was the best championship game I remember since the USC-UT game back in '05.

So how long does Auburn keep the title until the NCAA suddenly discovers some "new evidence" and drops the hammer?

Haven't watched any of the games this year so far, and I didn't watch this one cause I didn't want to jinx it (and because I was in class half the time.)

But it's great to be an Auburn Tiger.

Congrats to Oregon for a well played game. Once again, the coach and team have left me apologizing for their unsportsmanlike conduct.

I'll take the championship, but something just doesn't feel right.

The coach came off as...not quite humble, let's just say. But when you're holding the big crystal egg, I guess you can talk all the shit you want. You're king for the year, baby!

If you don't watch your own team in the National Championship you don't qualify as a fan. Status revoked.

Yeah, number 90 was a dick. The rest of Auburn's team played well, and props to Newton for a good game.
