Seriously, y'all should have come when you had the chance. Until the Big IX stops slobbering all over Texas's nob and institutes real revenue sharing y'all are gonna be stuck as a bridesmaid forever.
No need, you're boys did a good enough job of squealing earlier. NOT AGAIN MASON, NOT AGAIN... PLEASE, JUST MAKE IT STOP... MAKE. IT. STOP.
Ho-ly Fuck. That just happened. We're going to the Title Game. Anne is not going to be happy when she wakes up in the morning. I hope I'm asleep by then. I hope I don't piss myself if I pass out.
AHHH SHIT... They let me DOWN, They came back from 17-0 to take a 24-17 lead only to fuck up and blow it. YEAH YEAH I KNOW They lost... Oh well, I am not the only one that lost today. There is always next year.
If you consider a National Title Game berth underwhelming, what do you consider losing the Big IX Championship?
That could very well happen. But to go from 3-9 (0-8 in SEC play) to 12-1 and the chance to play for the Big Crystal.... I'll take that turn around any day of the week and twice on Sundays!
Meanwhile, in the conference that matters (), Stanford steamrolls ASU. In the end, what the fuck, Oregon. Losing to Stanford, I could see. But losing to Arizona?
So if Auburn's busy with the Championship Game, does that leave the Sugar Bowl still open for Mizzou? Or are they likely to give that berth to someone with fewer losses/more fanbase?
They'll put 'Bama in the Sugar Bowl, since they will be ranked higher and have only the 1 loss. Mizzou is looking at either the Capital One, Outback, or Cotton Bowls. The local paper says Outback is most likely, perhaps vs Iowa. I hear Tampa is nice this time of year....
From a buddy and fellow Mizzou fan who attended the game last night: "I tried to congratulate several Auburn fans, but they ran right by me!" LOL and Ouch!
According to my Facebook feed, Auburn is 2-0 this year when the Bama faithful are pulling against them. Keep up the good work, chumps! Also, to give you an idea, my buddy that owns the print shop? He made and sold more than 600 Mizzou shirts for Alabama fans this past week. Orders are already flooding in for FSU shirts. I say that to say this. I would find a clash between Alabama and Oklahoma to be high-larious just to see the reaction from both sides fans. Would it be possible for both teams to lose? *Waits on Flashlight to make his twice yearly appearance and get preachy about OU and "tradition."*
Mizzou is going to the Cotton Bowl! Pretty good. Arizona State gets the Holiday Bowl, good; Arizona gets some hideous car model-looking thing; Wisconsin gets the Capitol One, which at least has been around for a while I guess; Kansas State gets a Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, which I guess gives them an additional built-in audience at least.
So rumor has it Mack Brown is going to resign by the end of the week and the little birdies are saying that Bama is dangling 7 million a year, plus bonuses, incentives, and an extension in front of Nick to keep him from leaving.
This gif effectively conveys the mood over at Shaggybevo... Whether or not it all plays out is yet to be seen.
Finebaum is saying that Nick has had Bama's new contract for over a week and he's not done anything about it. I honestly can't say that I'll miss him. But, I have to wonder what Texas is offering if Bama is offering 7m and Nick isn't taking it. Then again, Nick has mentioned his displeasure with the fans.
On Tuesday, when the rumors were really running hot, apparently someone got hold of a phone at the Austin airport and paged Saban on the PA. I've heard or read a few sources that say UT is offering him $10million a year for ten years plus 1% of The Longhorn Network (which actually doesn't work out to be very much). Mack's in town tomorrow to promote the Alamo Bowl. They're expecting a...bit...more media than what usually covers pressers like that. Glad I'm not going to be part of it.
It's gonna hilarious either way, yes Saban at Texas will be a nightmare, but the rest of the conference will step up their game. Texas assumes Saban + ??? = Championship, not saying it won't happen, but they'll have to work for it. BUT if they can Mack and don't get Saban, it could get real fun, real fast.
I'm not scared of Saban. If he stays, fine. If he goes, fine. I still don't put a whole lot of stock in it. That said, I read this and laughed. Doubly so at the last paragraph.
