So I count 13 announced Republican candidates so far. I'm sure they won't create the same disaster as they did in '16
This really goes more toward the general election, but I didn't see much applicable to that, so this is as good as place as any for people following politics: Trumpism is killing the GOP in swing states. AZ and MI have 'astonishingly low cash reserves' and major donors don't believe the yoyos running the GOP in those states are a good use of their money - so they aren't donating. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/sw...-over-trumps-false-election-claims-2023-07-05
I assume this has to do with drug tests. I don’t believe he’s ever claimed to be a fighter pilot, the top picture is from a political add he did where he has a fighter helmet on that says Top Gov. Pretty cringe worthy as that is this person is being dishonest.
Didn't a lame photo op like that ruin Mike Dukakis's chances? Guess it only works as kryptonite for Dems, huh?
*Googles* Ah, Repug alt-history built out of nothing-burgers as usual. Bad enough you dummies live in an alt-history bubble, you expect sane people to now WTF you're babbling on about.
And was roundly rejected, then became a Republican, whereupon Republicans promptly elected him to the state legislature. That tell ya anything useful, Sparky?
Imagine if @Bill Carson had claimed to have studied history in college and was not a high school drop out working at subway making sammiches. Could you imagine a forty year old being this fucking stupid and thinking other people wouldn't call him on historical facts from their lifetime. You would have to be dayton level stupid. Oh wait, he is.
I suspect that will become a thing everywhere the cult runs or threatens the state party - WI, PA, NV? I could hope for NC. There's a historian I follow on Twitter who's deep in research about how the nutbar Bircher right took over the Oregon GOP starting way back in the 60's and how the normie Republican leaders failed to fully heed the warnings or simply were unable to stop it. Upshot being that they took over and effectively ended any chance of Republican statewide success for decades - yet they STILL, the Republicans in the legislature, work from the radical right and only accomplish anything at all when they break quorum. That's the future for these MAGA infested states and the ones who remain rational can't stop them. Of course, the pendulum always eventually swings in politics, it remains to be seen how long it will take though. What's regrettable is the 20-25 states they already control where little stops them from going full fascist - least of all the Imperial Court.
while y'all are dunking on him about corrupt politics (is that the topic?) someone get him discussing the Householder scandal in Ohio.
Good enough place for this I suppose. Idaho's Republican party is in a state of civil war. Canyon County is the one next to Boise and hardly a bastion of liberalism.
Boebert’s opponent sets national fundraising record. https://www.alternet.org/boebert-democratic-challenger-fundraising-record/
Colin Allred as far outpacing what Beto raised six years ago which was considered a huge amount at the time. I don't remember the specific numbers
I see the purpose of the campaign is to help get national advertising for the crazies. Money well spent for them
I do love being able to smack descumbag voters upside the head with things like this. Unfortunately the florida democrats just gave the last two elections away to him so maybe they might want to find a good candidate? The florida democrat party is the republican's best weapon.
A good question. Democratic donors have a tendency to go "oh my god, this is a horrible person" and throw money at whoever's running against them, rather than being strategic about which races can be won and are close enough for more donations to make a difference.
