An Important Complaint Against Faceman

He has gone to the professorelemental.com website and posted under the name "Tamar," expressing to the people there, including the voters and other contestants, that I have rigged the competition.

I've never filed a formal complaint before, but I am furious, and I would like something done about this immediately. Now I have to explain to Paul Alborough why there is a stranger trying to sabotage me, and it may or may not cost me my victory in the competition. I hope not, but when there are issues like these, sometimes the powers that be prefer just to disassociate themselves with the problem.

I'm confused. I used the link and found no message board provision?

Go to professorelemental.com and scroll to the bottom. There is a comments section where the visitors can discuss the site's activities, and the last four or so pages are regarding the competition on the Competition! page. All of the voters see this, all of the contestants see this, and Paul Alborough sees this.

Did you ask anyone here to go and vote in the poll?

Technically I do not know as fact, but the evidence of the situation seems well within the bounds of reasonable suspicion. Take a look at the sticky thread in the Red Room. This is a situation where the discretion of the administrators here at Wordforge would be the decision-maker, but I can't imagine it seems that there are any other possibilities as far as the culprit, given the evidence.

Yes, I did ask for Wordforgers to vote in the poll. The voting isn't an issue, Faceman made it clear that he was voting for an artist in direct competition with my work. There is nothing I can do about that, which is entirely understandable.

If there is nothing that is going to be done about it, let me know. We both know he did this, but it is a discretionary situation. If nothing is to be done, I'll just be left to reap the consequences on my own, whatever they may be.

As for "we both know he did it", I honestly don't. I am not that frequent a visistor here to the extent that I read all threads. This is the first I have heard about this vote, which is why, for the sake of objectivity, I am asking how you know it's Faceman.

Also, if you asked people to vote in the poll then the post isn't actually incorrect, surely? If you ask people here to add votes then you are trying to influence the vote, aren't you? So, from that point of view, the post, whilst rather shitty and uncalled for, isn't inaccurate.

Just my thoughts. Hope you win the vote, but not seeing how you either prove who the offender was or prove that they are telling lies.

My apologies, I haven't been up to date on the mod situation a while. It's not likely anything is going to be done about it. I'm left out to dry, and that's all there is to it.

What would you have us do? Get some sort of information from the other site like the ip address of whoever posted it and we can crosscheck. Beyond that I'm not going to pull a warning on a member for trolling you mildly in a Red Room thread and I doubt that when an admin comes online they will think differently.

You think it was Face (despite a couple other world-class douchebags who are regulars here) but I don't know that it was, and in any case you advertise your thing here, you takes your chances. Was it a shitty thing to do? Hells yeah. But I'm not in the business of policing the whole interwebs. That's Algore's job.

Wow. That's a real dick move. If it can be definitely pinned on someone that person needs a two to three month vacation if not longer.

Secondly as I alluded to in my post the guy already knew something was up. You linked to the page. Never link to the page as the site you came from is recorded. Real easy to pull up how people got there. The fact that a crapton of people came from wordforge.net and voted for you was already available. Next time just do something like 'Go to professorelemental dot com and vote for me!' or something like that.

I'll just have to be more careful in the future. Don't worry about it. I was angry, I was demanding things that cannot be made good upon. It happened, it cannot be undone, and I only pray that he doesn't do it again.

Well, the good thing is, and I don't think the culprit is aware of this, Tamar had already left a very positive message earlier on the site. So it's obvious that something odd had taken place.

Oh, I'm sorry, I read that wrong. Yes, it is encouraged to gather friends from anywhere, really, to come and vote. Not surprising, it's free publicity for Professor Elemental, which is always good.

But as I mentioned in the RR, the problem with the "offender's" post on that site was the word "sabotage."
