How the heck is this trolling? Seriously, if this is trolling then you guys are one screwed up, emotionally wrecked group of people.
Yeah, so what. Now they are laughing at you. And pallie, you have no idea if they were really celibate before marraige.
You're right. I don't have any idea if they were all celibate. I do know most of them though, and the ones I know were all celibate.
What do you guys do...sit around on Saturday night telling scary stories?? Big circle jerk? So you got freshman that wanted sex so bad they got married and moved into the Married Dorms so they could fuck???
Why do you think 'Christian' guys get married so young? They find the first girl that says 'yes' and BAM. Stuck for life in a loveless marriage with a man that only wants sex and dinner from his wife - and not necessarily in that order and you better have it ready 10 minutes before he knows he wants it. That's why I tell young women 'if you're looking to get married, stay away from churches.'
Oh. Did I hurt your feelings? Because, I typed something on the computer? And I was kidding? Now that you know how it feels, perhaps, you'll be a little more careful about the words you choose when responding to someone else.
...you know I'm not being serious when I call that hateful and trolling, right? If anything, what you said was ignorant and amusing.
I don't actually know. I don't know that as a particular, set expression from either Roman or Greek sources. But I do know of references from both Roman and Greek sources where foxes are depicted as devious and thus used as illustrations of people who are cunning but not to be trusted.
I'm not sure if it would matter if it was Greek or Roman - Palestine was right in the middle of the Hellenistic world at that time. It's not the perception of the person the comment is about, but what the person making it intends.
This IS apostle's self-implied specialty. However, Async has the benefit of experience, a larger spread of material, and a record for epic discussion.
I find it interesting that quite a few of Apostle's threads have gone 2 or even 3 pages. Has the parody thread quota gone down a little low for everyone's taste? You may not like him, but he's generated more discussion that many of the veterans in the short time he's been here.
I wouldn't call 2-3 pages of people finding creative ways to denigrate his IQ a "discussion". Besides, we already know what the old-timers are gonna say before they say it. Actually, scratch that, we can probably predict what Apostle's gonna say too, we just know it isn't going to be as good.
What? Me? Let me prove you wrong, here, with 17 pages of carefully argued, well-documented demonstrations!
