As you know I really like those Marvel movies. They are dumb but very entertaining. But there's a trend that might break the back of their winning streak: those movies have to get bigger and bigger and the stakes must get higher and higher. I mean, just watched CA2: TWS and it's great. But the stakes are so high already it's weird they didn't assemble the Avengers to battle the threat. So what must happen to bring them together?

Big is nice. But the border to ridiculous is pretty thin since the heroes are more human than Superman. Same goes for their other fantastic franchise, X-Men. Where to go after DOFP? I know there's another one coming and I fear it will have to be over the line.

Interesting speculaton - Ant-Man might be tied into Age of Ultron. Possible spoilers (though really just speculation):

Avengers 3 might have a really different cast. All we need is the next Hulk movie to be green-light (ha) and introduce Jennifer Walters.... :D

They're building to cosmic with Thanos in Avengers 3, then after that.....start all over again with fresh members.

There's a little voice in the back of my head saying that there might be too many different things going on in this movie. The memory of Spider-Man 3 is creeping around somewhere.

I'd wager the Marvel team is pretty cognizant of the problems with Spidey 3, so it doesn't worry me too much.

Whedon can manage large casts, and multiple arcs, I'm not worried.

Marvel and Whedon have earned a whole lot of faith.

Interesting that Cap--not Iron Man--is now the central figure.

Remember the first one, with Cap waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay in the back?

I predict that by "Infinity War", Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Vision, and Falcon will be up front.

    I predict...

For Infinity War, I'm hoping for this line-up:
    Captain Marvel
    Vision
    Falcon
    Black Panther
    Scarlet Witch
    Captain America, Bucky Edition

Something I just noticed, Cap's the only one in the new poster to have the Avengers' symbol on him. Hulk, Thor, and Fury, you can understand, but not Black Widow, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, or Quicksilver. Iron Man's kinda iffy, what with Tony being a billionaire and all.

So have they introduced all of the Infinity Gems already? I guess we still have a few movies to go before we get to that...

Tesseract, Aether, Orb, Sceptre, ?, ?
