According to this, the people who created Parler were idiots about computer security. They created a situation where hackers could create unlimited numbers of administrator accounts, and where at least some regular users gave personal info like scans of their DLs to confirm their identity. Now administrators have access to that information and any posts people tried to delete in the wake of Wednesday's insurrection. Which presumably means that can be shipped to law enforcement or anyone else.

Hackers got all the information from Parler, including "deleted" posts and, in some cases, RL driver's licences. So those who thought they could use Parler to plot various things without anyone being able to know about it are now in bad trouble. The FBI (and others) can get at all their information, because the platform was run by amateurs who didn't know how to do security.

And I'm not even sad!

I don't know much about it either, since the only "social" media I know about are TrekBBS and Wordforge. And my knowledge of TBBS is many years old...

That being said, I have been told that Parler is more like Twitter than like Facebook.

I feel for you! With that French u followed immediately by that French r followed by that liquid "euil" sound, it's really not an easy one.

When I was learning French, I never had a problem with the r, unlike most Americans. But I just couldn't make a French "u" (the ü sound in German). I tried and it always came out "ooo". Various French people told me how to do it, and it never worked.

Then one day an English girl I met briefly told me how. "It's simple," she said. "You put your mouth in the position to say 'ooo', and you try to say 'eee'." So I tried it, and it worked! Then I had to practice it for hours and hours, in various words, until it became a habit to make that sound and I didn't even have to think about it any more.

Why can't the French just speak English like everyone else?!?!?

This seems to be extremely unlikely from a technical point of view. Parler would have to be the worst written ap in modern history. Without independent verification, personally I'd put this down as rumor.

That being said, they are exposed in a lot of other ways. I think there's a real chance they don't come back.

I would not put it by some half assed trumpista who was trying to make an app to catch all the twitter droppings. You are probably talking about a greedy person who saw an opportunity to be a flash in the pan who took a bunch of shortcuts because he didn't care at all about the users. That is a trump type of person. That would also be the type of people who are with his supporters. These are not people who look deeply into things.

Can the “Acting President” use pardon power to pardon the sitting (but deposed) President of whatever charges he thinks the President might be facing?
Is that a legal possibility? Because if it is, I’m surprised Trump and Pence haven’t thought of that.

Sure, he's swallowed his personal feelings to play the obedient lapdog in the past. But Trump put Pence's life, along with that of his wife and daughter, in danger and didn't even bother to check on whether they were OK. Jim Inhofe (senator from Oklahoma) said he's never seen Pence as angry as he is right now.
