Another really good episode. The con in Lubbock was fucking awesome. Who knew that Kai wasn't actually going to be the real headache for Mike to deal with. They telegraphed something was going to happen with Werner, but at first I was thinking he might suicide because he was so depressed. Well, he's probably a dead man now.
I think I've mentioned before that the AV Club reviews of this and many shows are really good. One of the commenters on this week's episode brought up a really good point:
The coolest detail: Jimmy walking past (and noting) the trash can he smashed up in the pilot episode.
I knew the German guy was going to eat a bullet, but still it was sad. I’ve been to NM and the skies are beautiful. Western skies are great. Lastly, can we get a Spinal Tap reunion with Odenkirk as the drummer?
Like Walter White's journey to break bad, Michael's turn to the darkside is now complete. Fucking stellar finale. P.S. - I was in Albuquerque two weeks ago so it was cool to see the Twisters a.k.a. Los Pollos Hermanos. Fun fact: Most shots of Los Pollos in Breaking Bad were done on the right side of the restaurant. In Better Call Saul, most shots are of the left side.
Over the last 6 or so weeks iv just watched the four seasons. Really enjoyed it, early seasons better i thought. Infact season 1 i was thinking it was better than BB. Mike the best character in it although i was disapointed to see him properly turn in the season finale. Im not sure why Fring needed him dead, at least not until construction is complete. The Mike story has been real good from the start. Some of the early stuff i was enjoying his side more than Jimmys. Guessing Kim is or will be done with Jimmy now having seen him as the flawed fraud he is.
Most places I've read have it ending after six seasons, which would put it two episodes shy of the number of episodes in Breaking Bad (unless they do a 12-episode S6 or eleven episodes in S5 and S6). In interviews, Gilligan and his co-creator have referenced how it would be cool if both series ended with the same total, but we'll see. I just finished rewatching S1-S3 on Netflix and am waiting for S4 to be released soon before the next season starts on AMC. Such a great show.
‘Better Call Saul’ Renewed for 6th and Final Season at AMC 13-episode final season, bringing the total to 63. One more than Breaking Bad.
Season five debuted last week! I'm shocked there hasn't been a thread on this. @shootER are you watching? Great first two episodes. This really is the best television show currently airing. Jimmy's transformation to Saul is almost complete. Kim seems to be the only thing anchoring him to being a decent human being. Wonder how it will end for her.
Can't see it in the forum, as it was probably started by someone I have on ignore. (This thread was first anyway )
Watched the first two episodes last night (I did a fast S4 rewatch earlier in the week, after I abandoned my Sopranos binge*). Very good. That first Gene/Cinnabon segment was...long, but good. 12 or 13 minutes until the first commercial break. I don't remember one being that long before. Breaking Bad was amazing, but I'm really beginning to like BCS more. Any production that fancies itself as a "prequel" could take lessons from Vince Gilligan and his crew. *The Sopranos is really good, and is clearly the...godfather...of all the great dramatic television that we've been able to see over the last 20 years. I quit my first-time binge watch with about six episodes left because I'd been spoiled to the fact that just about everybody I cared about died by the time the series was finished. As good as that show is, though, I'd rank most everything that came after as being better. The cinematography and editing for Breaking Bad and BCS blow The Sopranos away, even on the latter show's best day.
At first I thought the guy who “made” Saul was FBI, but that could be a red herring. I wonder how he’ll handle it? Probably something stupid. The guy plays Hector’s nephew is great. I think he’ll eat a bullet. Nacho’s fucked and Gus has him by the balls. Can’t wait to see how this plays out.
