It's tough. I totally support the Jews having a home, and I get that they still behave better than pretty much every other Middle Eastern country, but they still do things that most people aren't comfortable with the "good guys" doing, and they really do treat the Palestinians (or however you want to classify them) like shit. Israel did not "steal land from the Palestinians". Israel conquered Palestinian territory in two major wars (Israeli War of Independence and Six Day War) that they did not start.

What we call the "West Bank" was part of Jordan until 1967. Jordan (big mistake) joined Egypt and Syria in the Six Day War and got their asses kicked and thus lost the West Bank. Many Palestinians lived in Jordan but had to flee Jordan back to the West Bank after the Black September uprising when they basically rebelled against King Hussein's authority.
