Caught up with the entire series since this Spring and I'm really jazzed up about S4.

I keep looking for these on the on-demand cable TV replays from the cable company, but that channel doesn't seem to want to offer the episodes on "Freezone." Must be holding onto them for DVD sales.

Trailer for Season 4. I'm giddy with anticipation...

    [yt=Breaking Bad Season 4]7iwnmisHL3w[/yt]

I love this show because it illustrates perfectly how you cannot retain your virtue in a world of the virtueless. Walt's a decent guy, but he is being relentlessly dragged into a moral abyss by the logic of the world he's chosen to live in.

I'm caught up to the last old episodes AMC has run, the one where Walt's brother-in-law kills Tuco.

I'm really liking this. A lot. In many ways, I can really relate to Walt. :calli:

I'm not going to bother until I can watch from the very beginning. Chiseling bastards can offer it up on freezone, dammit.

Oh, just jump in anywhere, the "previously on..", bits throw you into it well enough.

Ya sort of, but at this point he must be about a season and a half out of 3 behind.

You can sorta catch up by jumping in, BUT...

...the main appeal of the series (at least for me) is watching
which plays out over the course of all the seasons.

I'd watch this show in order, otherwise that effect is lost. And that's what really hits the viewer hardest, especially so in the last few episodes of Season 3.

I'm caught up to the end of Season 3 and am ready for the Season 4 premier tonight.

The last season was great, the best of the three so far and they've all been excellent. I wasn't quite "Oh shit!" like you guys were with the last two episodes because, watching the whole run in ten days, I was probably more prepared for it than if I were watching the episodes once a week.

BTW, if you were wondering why the show didn't receive a single EMMY nomination last week, it's because no new episodes aired during the 2010/2011 eligibility period (which runs from 1 June to 31 May from year to year). Season 4 will be in next year's EMMY nominations, but it means that Cranston's streak of three Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series wins in a row will be broken.

Hank's overall arc is just as compelling IMHO. He goes from being Billy Badass DEA agent, to losing his nerve in El Paso, to obsessed yet good cop tracking down the RV, to being pushed over the edge, then coming to terms with his failures and not being a cop anymore, and then finally having to fight for his life against the sociopath cartel brothers in "One Minute".

I'm expecting good things from his character this season.

Tonight bitches, DVR is lubed up and ready to RAWK! :sokar:

Good episode, though what Gus was going to do was pretty obvious.

The edit between the mop and the french fries is one of the best I've ever seen. :rotfl:

Technically a whole lot didn't happen in this episode, and while predictable, it was nice to see Gus cement his place as alpha dog again. I liked the shock and revulsion on Mike's face as it happened.

I'm willing to tolerate Hank's descent into whiny bitchland because it only means that his eventual comeback will be that much better.

That log book has as much to do was where this season is headed as anything.

How much of a nerd I am: I immediately recognized the ship from Quark in the background of Gale's video.

BTW, very good episode this week. The last couple have been a bit slow, but this one was full of the kind of stuff that made me like this show in the first place. :techman:

I love how it's shot and cut. Top notch.

    The good news:

    The bad news:

Not surprising, since Gilligan had apparently wanted it to be a 5-season series. It always sucks when a good show ends, though. :(

Yeah, but I'd rather have it end as intended and not prolonged with diminishing returns.

I believe this series may be a good contender for plowing through from the beginning on DVD until I get cable again.

I suspect the series will conclude with one of the following events:

    or

I lean toward the latter because the series seems to be big on bad choices that have a way of rebounding. That outcome would make the overall theme of the series fit.

The nice thing about the series run being so short is that, hopefully, they'll offer all five seasons in a nice Blu-Ray boxed set at a reasonable price.

This season has been a little slow compared to the first three, but the last couple of episodes have been good.

I think Mike is my favorite character.

And my oldest daughter is definitely mine: During Walt and Jessie's fight, she pointed out that the wire from Cranston's wireless mic was visible. I backed up the DVR and, sure enough...

Gus is a badass. Makes me want to root for him over Walt sometimes.

Skylar telling her old boss where the money came from is a mistake, IMHO. I suspect that, eventually, he may be paid a visit by Mike or another heavy because he'll pressure Skylar for more dough.

Man, this show is kick ass good. There are a lot of possibilities for this season, how many episodes are they doing?

Jesse really stepped up in that lab, that was good stuff.
