I guess I'm still rooting for Walt. I really don't like the way the writers are playing Jesse this season. Over the years, Walt and Jesse had grown thick as thieves. They've killed several people over the years and have had each others back in a sea of sharks.... Walt saved his life a few times and Jesse saved his. I just don't buy Jesse's seemingly fragile state of mind over Walt manipulating him to stay in the Meth business a few weeks longer. It certainly can't be the body count...
Walt's the protagonist, so we're meant to root for him. But he's really a very, very bad man. We've kinda been sucked into his badness--much the same way characters around him have been--and I think we're going to get a rude awakening in these last few eps. As for Jesse, I find his turn completely believable. He's been in a pretty fragile condition since his girlfriend died in season 2. Then he had to kill Gail. Then a kid got murdered during the train heist. Then his girlfriend's son got poisoned. Then Mike "went on vacation." And he's finally put it together: it's all because of Walt. My prediction:
Walt and Jesse have killed lots of people over the years. Most of the time, it was Walt pulling both of their asses out if the fire. Crazy Eight... Tuco Salamonca... Fring's dudes that killed Jesse's friend... Walt's been very loyal to him even if he was manipulating him in the end. And Mike was a bad dude too. I still think the whole friendship between him and Jesse was a concoction of Fring's to drive a wedge between Jesse and Walt. The only thing I can really hold against Walt was the killing of all Fring's men in jail, but ultimately, that was to save Jesse and Walts asses once again. That business with Jesse's girl in bed... Walt didn't do anything to kill her... He just didn't do anything to save her. That's not really on Walt.
I think some bad stuff is coming, stuff that will make us hate Walt, Jesse and Hank more than maybe we already do. Okay, I don't hate the characters but it's easy to hate what they've become as people. I fully expect horrific things, dead kids, police, etc. All we know is that Bearded Walt has ricin and an M60. Shits gonna get real.
I have to believe that Walter is going to get his comeuppance--one way or the other--in the end. THAT would definitely "undo" everything Walt has done.
