glad to know it picks up. i am in the middle of season 2 and starting to get a little bored. i will keep going!
Do keep going. Season 2 is, IMHO, the weakest--although it does feature the wonderfully horrific moment that Walter White passes the moral point of no return--but Season 3 really takes off and ends in an absolutely shattering cliff-hanger. Season 4 is even better and its final episode is just...whoa. Season 5 is shaping up to be the best yet, and the stage is set for (hopefully) an incredible conclusion to the series.
I believe the first half of this season is already out on DVD. Honestly, a lot of moving it the fuck along, for the amount of time we had to wait. I know these are season-long "chapters" that build up slowly, but this was a hell of a lot tedious when I was plowing through entire seasons in a weekend.
I love how they let everyone know that they know. It completely opens up the rest of the episodes to get us to the bearded Walter and his M60. I'm excited.
I meant to comment on that scene before. It was obviously written and recited by someone who didn't learn about Star Trek by watching episodes. I found it grating, but I'm sure I'm in the minority on that.
Tulaberries are from the Gamma Quadrant, which we learned on DS9 (not fucking Voyager). No replicators. Quatloos were used by those brains in jars to bet on captives they forced to fight each other, not a currency used on Fed starships. I don't believe we saw intra-ship beaming until TNG, but I may be wrong on that. "Oheura"? And if he put that shit to paper, I'm sure it would be printed in the WRONG FUCKING FONT!
Well, here's what I gathered from the flash-forward at the beginning of the show: Of course, the writers are very clever, so there may be alternate interpretations for what we saw.
I also guarantee I've partaken more while watching Star Trek than the entire cast and production crew of Breaking Bad, and I manage to keep that shit straight.
[spoilers] God, I hope they don't give him the Vick Mackie treatment, ending The Shield with a whimper, Vick sitting at a desk in a cubicle farm. "Oh, the humanity! The only way to untangle my own clusterfuck and save my family was to let them go! Now I'm all alone with no friends! " [/spoilers]
Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if EVERYTHING we're seeing is a red herring of some kind or another. The conclusions I reached are kinda, well, obvious, and part of me hopes--as has been the case with this show several times before--that I'm being set up for something else.
The one thing I think Walter really needs to do, before the series ends is.... [YT="Spoiler"]TMRi8DbazXw[/YT] Actually it would have worked really well after "I won.".
So... any speculations on what happens tonight? One thing that occurred to me, Skyler gave money to Marie to pay for Hank's treatment and rehab after he got shot. Will this become factor in what Hank does if he finds out about it?
it was nice seeing the old Perea's. They moved into an old Long John Silvers shortly after this ep was filmed
Another great episode with everything in Walter's life completely unraveling. And to answer Ed's question, Marie pretty much figures everything out on her own, that Hank's "gambling problem" was a lie, and that Skyler knew before Hank was shot. These last few episodes are seriously ramping up the tension towards the grand finale. The final shot of Hank walking into the interrogation room pretty much sums up what the next few episodes will be about.
