Just because the talking head on Fox says so or your stormfront buddies tell you its true doesn't mean its anything other than wishful thinking.

It is probably just my imagination but when I first saw the split screen of the two possible suspects, I thought there were enough similarities in their facial features to indicate they might've been brothers or at least cousins.

Anyone else feel that way?

The guy went missing a month ago, the FBI got involved which is strange in a missing persons case like this one. There have been a series of what appear to have been trial run bombings in Hanover in the last month. And a former classmate of his went to the FBI and then tweeted that she thought she knew who it was.

There are a lot of coincidences here. I'm not saying for sure it was Sunil Tripathi, but there is certainly reason to keep following that trail.

His nose doesn't look right for it to be the same guy. Sunil's nose dips lower in the front than the kid in the ball cap.

This is why few people take your assertions seriously. You cited a Victoria Advocate opinion piece as your supporting evidence, and stated that it was a fact. Your "fact" is nothing more than that of a chain email/pass it on rumor with no solid evidence to support it.

Perhaps, I can't see more than faceless blobs in most of those security videos they show on TV asking folks to identify a suspect in a crime. I have a feeling however, that its not him. A month is a very long time for someone to "disappear" these days and not at least leave traces on places like facebook, twitter, etc., if they're under 35.

Read the Reddit thread. He wanted to disappear. He left his wallet and phone and walked out of his apartment never to be seen again. The FBI agent in the Fox News video said that means one of 2 things. You expect to come right back or you never plan to and don't want to be found. The FBI stayed on this missing persons case a month because of what they found in his apartment. This kind of thing doesn't normally warrant their attention.

According to the guys who run the witness protection program, the biggest threat to a person being discovered is them refusing to give up old habits. Changing things you do without thinking every day of your life is much harder than most people realize.

Agreed its not easy. Someone might have to be pretty dedicated to a cause to pull something like that off.

Not remotely. I'm not even sure they are the same ethnicity. When I looked at the photos I thought the guy in the dark cap was south Asian (such as Indian), and the other guy looked white or Mediterranean. In fact the first face that popped into my head was Chris Moltisanti from The Sopranos!!

This is why it's best not to speculate until we have better pictures or information. Still could be anybody right now. The pictures are too grainy. Chances are they have been released so that people who saw them might be able to give better descriptions.

Not conclusive proof the two are linked anyway, unless I have missed something.

Sunil Tripathi and Mike Mulgeta are named on the police scanner as suspects.

Rotate the family pic to match the angle in the suspect pic, and it matches.

One suspect arrested with another still at large.

One suspect is dead, and the police are telling folks in the area to stay indoors.

If the reports on their names are accurate (at this point it's hard to tell based on the media's poor track record so far), at least one of them has a common Indian name. The other one had a fairly common English/American name. Still hard to tell at this point.

The latest name given out, for the guy on the run, is a chechyan name. Al Qaeda has been known to have links in Chechnya so it's looking more like an organised attack.

One of them apparently had traveled to Russia recently, so it could well be that they were in a training camp there.
