I really want to be bothered by caitlyn, but she is so damned obvious in what she is doing she is going to force people to defend trans people and say they are decent people who are being hurt by her trumpian grifts. She is totally adopting the horrible token trans person role and just being the villain. I really do not see much downside. I do not think any allies are going to turn on trans people because of her. Only the most vapid and horrible drama queens, and I do mean queens, are going to back her. Go and take all that negative bullshit with you.

For this i can almost not blame her for what she is doing. She is trying to get money from the gullible right by conning them into multiple donations for their one time tip. Some of them might give her money, but I am thinking she is no Alan West so they are never going to vote for her in an election. Even if I think about her getting some donations from a few dimwitted trans people who don't pay enough attention for their own good i am not terribly disturbed.

If we really don't like what she is doing perhaps we should work on a solution where we regulate election finance to the point where it is not some gigantic con for people to make money on both sides. Whether or not you think hillary, Obama, and Joe are con people, or you think Trump, Kanye, and Jenner are con people then you can agree we need to stop all of these people from making money by running campaigns.

As for my solution, we finally have one in american society. A government run website where you can get all of your advertising hosted for free, and then eliminate donations to PACs, campaigns, and anything else. The rule should be if you get one cent for your campaign you go to the deepest darkest jail cell for fifty years and hang out with the murderers, rapists, and violent criminals. We could start by putting the Clintons, Bush family, and anyone related to the trumps and kardasians in there.

But by all means, explain for the class the significant physical advantage an ELEVEN YEAR OLD brings to the race.

The hypothesis: given that when a person AMAB (assumed male at birth) goes through puberty they, ON AVERAGE, experience the benefits of testosterone giving them - on average - a distinct physical advantage over the average female, it is reasonable to expect that should we allow these individuals the opportunity to compete as girls if they profess a female gender identity, such trans girls would routinely dominate the cis girls because they have an unfair physical advantage.

Okay, scientifically what do you do with a hypothesis? if practical and ethical you test it, observe the results, and confirm or revise your hypothesis.

This one, as it happens, HAS BEEN EXTENSIVELY TESTED IN THE FIELD. Over half of American students attend in a district in which trans students, medicated or not (it varies) compete according to their gender identity, not their assumed sex at birth and this has been true for over a decade in some places. We have a data set that includes literally thousands, likely millions, of competitive events, so it's a robust sample of results to reach a conclusion from.

And the predicted dominance utterly failed to appear. Their are rare instances of a trans girl winning impressively, but even winning at all is noticeably an outlier in the data.

By any objective scientific standard, the hypothesis utterly failed. It's trash. Useless except to pose the question "why were we wrong about this?" as a matter for further study.

As if that isn't enough to crush the right wing case for these laws, there's this, just for gravy:

Already done. Broadly available access to puberty blocking medication and later HRT, where indicated for the individual student, ENTIRELY mitigates the postulated physical advantage and "normalizes" the playing field to at least the extent of biodiversity among cis-females.

I am actually glad this is here. There are people who believe the right has their backs and will tolerate them. I would find it much more humiliating to see the small amount of money she got from republicans for being their token as compared with the actual big grifters like trump.
