Just an FYI, I have read that hormone introduction during fetal development may have something to do with it. However, there is no way for a person with your intellect to understand the development of thought and association in a human brain. For anyone who is interested there is amazing research out there which goes far beyond transgenderism and goes into how the mind works, but again this is like trying to explain quantum physics to a hamster.

X and Y in many species are odd - the Y has (over time) lost many genes (migrated to the X) and is mostly junk DNA except for those that encode major sex determinants. The X has to have some genes silenced (either by the Y or by the other X in the case of XX individuals) because dual expression is (usually) bad. If anything goes wrong with the silencing process, you could possibly be looking at some activation of "male" hormones in "females" (don't forget everyone has estrogen and testosterone, just in differing amounts). Fragile X and fragile Y - where chunks of the chromosome break off - are documented and linked to autism - but break off the sex-coding bits of the Y and you can easily see how you might get issues with "proper" male/female division.
