Dayton on wikipedia articles, December 26 2013. So you are admitting that what you say is a joke then?

wikipedia is good for some things. Not good for others.

Surely you know that no one source is "universally good"

Well you yourself stated the limitations, but then you used the ones you say are only good for noncontroversial topics. Hypocrite.

What's wrong with that? Elective abortion is probably the single most evil widely tolerated practice the world has ever vomited up from its black heart. There's no moral difference between an elective abortion and strangling an infant to death in his crib, and anyone who participates in one is guilty of murder.

Regardless of one's feelings about abortion, the inherent contradiction between the two posts should be obvious. In the first, Dayton implies that he doesn't care about the issue of gay marriage, while in the second, its revealed that he actually does care about the issue, he just puts it at a lower priority than abortion.

I care about virtually every issue.

But in life you need priorities.

I've talked about before on this forum (at least I thought I did) that conservatives lost the arguments against gay marriage back in the late 60s and 70s when they did not take on the culture of divorce.

No. If you get down to it even in the New Testament it is allowed in cases of adultery.

But I think society should still frown on it and it should be difficult to obtain.

Given that it requires two people consenting to agree to begin a marriage, I think it should require two people consenting to end a marriage.

    That I do agree with.

But, I think on the flip side of that, people jump into marriage either too quickly or for all the wrong reasons. Most couples getting divorced today do so over finances because they didn't sit down and hash that out before their FICO scores became entwined. Churches used to make counseling mandatory before a couple could marry there, and the Catholic church still requires Pre-Cana, which is a good idea.

but that said, I realize we can't put that genie back in the bottle and some couples that are completely toxic should have that out, if not for themselves then for their children, so they don't have to put up with their fights.

What? You think women are people? Shame on you. A woman's uterus is the property of whatever happens to reside there. The Thirteenth Amendment established that people are property, right?

So, the history teacher isn't certain of the most famous comment by the figure who shaped thoughts on how war should be conducted for over 100 years. This same history teacher thinks that he'll be President one day, and thus be able to follow the unfulfilled plans of a certain housepainter. Perhaps, if he's lucky, Dayton will wind up like a concubine mentioned by Sun Tzu in his book on military strategy. (Let's see if Dayton gets the reference.)

I'm more disturbed by the fact that this history teacher doesn't know the Berlin wall fell.

Its not his fault, the school had a choice of replacing the 1987 edition of the history textbooks they'd been using, or buying helmets for the football team, since the state was going to prohibit them from playing without the helmets. They chose the helmets, of course. Football is what really matters, after all.
