I wonder how many of the court judgments he's read that he's now bitching about.

My wife is a major Scott Bakula fan.

Which is why we end up watching NCIS: New Orleans the moment it comes on. Not that its a bad show but I prefer the original.

On a side note, how are none of the NCIS shows based in an area with a significant Navy population? The shipyard near NOLA closed after my ship left there nine months ago and there's a reservist base in nearby Belle Chasse, but that's it.

I mean, shit, you got one of 'em in LA, which is a whole two hours away from the largest Navy community on the West Coast. How hard is it to do that show?

L.A. is just much cooler than San Diego. Do you think Hollywood elite would ever deign to showcase a California city that wasn't either L.A. or within L.A.'s orbit?

Seriously? It's nearly 100 miles from LA city center to Santa Barbara city center. It's not that much closer to LA than San Diego is.

Relstively speaking, that's true. LA is withing a two hour drive of every other semi well known SoCal city. The sailors with family in LA make monthly trips up there more often than not, and those having been stationed in Japan take trips to Irvine for the CoCo Ichibanya that's out there (because there's some developer/ zoning BS as to why we can't get one in San Diego, where a third of the patrons come from :brood:).

The saddest part of it is that we know he'd also betray Christian Americans as well. Hell, he's already doing it with the mockery he makes of his religion and supposed American values.

I couldn't watch psych as I used to live in Santa Barbara and would get mad at how it was obviously filmed in Vancouver and not Santa Barbara. News flash: there aren't thick forests like that in Santa Barbara, the architecture is entirely different, and people don't talk like Canadians there.

WRT Santa Barbara: Man, those LA bastards would clog the north bound 101 every Friday evening and Saturday morning then on Sunday it would be the south bound 101 which got clogged while the other lane just had light traffic from locals. All of the locals would bitch about how "those LA people" where causing traffic jams with their bad road manners.

San Diego tries very hard to point out they are not LA, almost too hard, to the point of allowing it to define them. That is some strange mix of hate and envy. To their credit we do do our own thing. Think of it like how Canadians, when traveling abroad, are always telling people they're not Americans just so no one gets confused. It is kind of like that with San Diego and LA.

HAHA! You don't know about the "orange curtain" because life changes behind it (for the better mostly). San Diego is as far from LA as NYC is from Boston so it is plenty far enough to develop and maintain its own culture and feel.
