What the Supreme Court did in 2000 was simply prevent the same stunt the Democrats pulled in the governors race in Washington (or Oregon, can't remember which right now) a couple of years ago. This was where the Dems kept demanding recounts until they got one that showed their girl with more votes and then basically declared "Thats it. All the recounts are done".
The Supreme court simply stopped the Democrats from trying to re-write election law during the election.
Too bad they didn't stop Florida. Katherine Harris: "Is that a hanging chad or are you just happy to see me?"
More absurdity from the the nuts I see. Florida Supreme court tried to overwrite the Florida Constitution. Supreme Court said no, try again. Florida Supreme Court ignored them and then got smacked down hard in round two. Democrats felt the Florida Constitution was something that you can get your Democrat judge friends on the Florida court to change at a whim. They found out wrong.
Maude is just sore because neither Ron Brown nor Vince Foster's votes for Gore were counted in the election.
This thread also voted for Gore in 2000. If the Democrats hadn't been unfairly blocked by the Supreme Court, its voice would've been heard.
Yes, I voted for him in the primary, but I don't know... Cheney kind of Pwned his ass in the VP debate. I was hoping that MArk Warner would re-consider or Wesley Clark threw his hat back in the ring.
Interesting. Apparently, marathon's rule is to not vote for anyone who'd already run for national office. Now, my memory is understandably faulty here, but I'm pretty sure Obama ran for Senate, which is a national office. I'm also pretty sure marathon voted for him. Marathon! Explain yourself!
A Senate seat isn't a national office because only people from the Senator's state can vote for him or her.
Better than I feel about Obama. But then, I feel better about the morning shit that I just took than I feel about either of them.
