I know what Disney can do to reassure folks that they won't fuck up the franchise: The first 10 minutes of the next Avengers movie is nothing but Hulk pummeling Jar Jar Binks!

I don't think Lindelof is writing SW7. He's been pretty active tweeting jokes and stuff about it.

Abrams seems locked up with Star Trek and TV projects, and Whedon is pretty much all Avengers all the time now, right?

What about someone out of left field? Rian Johnson? Neill Blomkamp? RDM???

Howabout Frank Darabont get a crack at it again?
He was supposed to do the prequels until the last minute, when Lucas's ego got in the way.

Yeah, I agree that's a lot of retarded speculation. "Mark Hamill was born in 1951, so obviously 1952 refers to him!" :tbbs:

And if Damon Lindelof is at all involved in the creative process, this movie is gonna blow.

So Gul's not allowed to suggest a WF member write the next Star Wars movie? A WF member who actually writes screen plays for a living?

You two choir boys with your angelic "who, me?" faces are quite charming. But let's leave the subtle trolling out of here.

This serves notice. I recommend very strongly that you--or anyone else with similar ideas--refrain from discussing the aforementioned "WF member who actually writes screen plays" for the duration of the thread.

Okay, that's it. Drop it now. Don't give me any more of the innocent routine, you all know damned well what you're doing.

If you want to discuss it, take it to the Help Desk. ANY further discussion centered on that WF member will get a FULL warning.

Nothing, absolutely fucking nothing, has ever taken me "out of the film" more than kid-Kirk driving a 60's era convertible off a cliff while listening to the fucking Beastie Boys and ignoring his step-father's threats over the NOKIA communication system.

Nobody should play Luke, Leia, and Han except Hamill, Fisher, and Ford. Try to recast those roles and you're going to blow it out of the water.

I think the premise that the new trilogy would deal with the next generation is the best.

I could see a Star Wars reboot.

    Chris Pine as Luke Skywalker
    Daniel Craig as Han Solo
    Katee Sackhoff as Princess Leia
    Christian Bale as Darth Vader
