That's why I just listed yours as the "clue" instead of the "stone cold hard evidence" that is in most of the other posts.

Let's see what I originally wrote again shall we:

A lot. Not all. You called me out on it so I decided to check in case I had incorrectly perceived a lot of peoples intent.

I then provided the explanations from those people in their own words.

Is there a reason that you don't think that those posters who explained why the think the term novelty president applied to Obama shouldn't be taken at their word?

Bush was the twice elected governor of one of the largest states in the nation.

Yeah...Texas....but other than a businessman, that's it. Obama was a lawyer, a college professor, a state legislator, and a Senator...and I'm leaving out community organizer, because I'm not really sure what that is.

Maybe had he the experience I mocked him lacking, Obama would've been able to accomplish legislation through leadership and consensus-building sufficient to survive his successor?

In response to me using that term that time, the board's self-appointed black spokesperson took great offense, so I'm pretty sure to avoid racist trolling I did not repeat it; that is, until the trump conversation yesterday.

General Grant, imo novelty. Guess why? A sitting Senator (you can guess who), novelty. A likely new Congressperson, novelty. In fact, outside of libland, there's more to life and conversations than race.

What is so significant about "Texas"? Other than being hideously difficult to serve as governor of due to the unusual structure of the Texas state government

    Heh.
Can't "build consensus" with opposing party who said up front, before he was ever sworn in, "we're gonna block everything"

Clearly the fault of Obama not having magical mind control powers, not the fault of the devious slimeball leading the opposing party.

That's just it. As far as governorships go, the governor of Texas doesn't have a whole lot of pull.

Which makes serving as governor that much more difficult. George W. Bush had to form an alliance with long time serving and very powerful Democratic icon Lt. Governor Bob Bulloch in order to get his programs passed.

Okay, so you're saying a governor that's more figurehead than executor has more experience than a state legislator and senator?

A governor that has to work the system to get what he wants done because he has fewer actual levers of power he can exercise is better prepared to become president than a U.S. Senator (who hasn't even served one term) and an Illinois state legislator.

Okay that's a fair point I guess. I thought "Chicago Politics" was supposed to be a thing, but fair enough. So how much stuff did Bush get done while he was gov?

I'll admit that although I lived in Texas during his last few years as governor I don't remember specifics though in my defense it has been 20 years. I do remember him establishing the relationship with the Democratic Lt. Governor Bob Bulloch who as soon as Bush took office as governor told him.

"If you want anything done then you'll be my son of a bitch".

    To which Bush replied

"Fine. I'll be your son of a bitch".

Bulloch and Bush worked well together in marked contrast to the former governor of Texas, Democrat Ann Richards who was basically at war with Bulloch for her entire time in office.

How is it different than California where the lieutenant governor is elected and president of the California senate? Somehow the California lieutenant governor is a nobody in state operations.

I'm not sure. I do know that the Lt. Governor of Texas pretty much determines what bills are allowed to come up for consideration in the state legislature.

    See... now there's your problem.
Not really going for an insult so much as an observation. The Dana Loesch video made the rounds when it was fresh and I too, had no idea who she was for the all of the 0.03 seconds it took to read the tag "NRA Spokesperson". After 5 seconds I'd noted she's eyecandy and just non Aryan enough to get the *ahem* gun oil out over for the fringe to get all Hinkley over. I can honestly say I know an equal quantity about her as I do Maxine Waters. I know plenty more about Trump, but that's a level or six up on the influence scale.

Now, if I were to contrast the response to the quality of statements by either of them, well... that's already been done.

Trump had even less experience and by far the worst resume of any President in living memory yet you dip shits lapped it up. Fact.

If the last two years have taught us anything it's the utter insanity of such "never" predictions

No, but in all seriousness, the Right does have a tiny point about the irony of hipsters pissing and bitching about Communism while buying these shirts at Hot Topic or whatever.

That said, the whole Cuba revolution never would've happened we're not for us stick our nose in, and arguably if not for the Spanish-American War that William Randolph "Fake News" Hurst stirred up, so...it all balances out.

    Yeah that’s probably wrong.

Cuba was under the grips of a dictatorship. I could easily see the Cuban people still rising up and Castro and communism taking over.

Even if America wasn’t involved in anyway.

Cuba was under the brutal occupation of the Spanish.

Which segued eventually into the brutal dictatorship of Batista.

Which segued into the brutal dictatorship of Castro.

I agree the sanctuary for criminals who commit nonimmigration offenses is stupid. Just look at who they have been releasing back into neighborhoods to commit more crimes. The vast majority simply do not support this and Democrats are fools for trying to pander to racist hispanic "activists".

Luckily, not all of them do this but too many do. They need to correct that and purge the criminal supporters from the party.

You know the U.S. has had a history of supporting brutal dictators.

But they didn't support brutal dictators just for the hell of it. Almost all of them were felt to be better for the countries in question than the alternative.
