    It's pretty clear that you were salivating at the thought of Musk turning Twitter into a ring-wing echo chamber. (Yes, I know, you say you're not right-wing, but you parrot too many of their talking points for anyone to actually believe that.)

    The truth is, a whole lotta people found Twitter as it was (and largely still is), to be extremely useful. Which means that even if Musk torpedoes Twitter market forces will create a replacement for it. It won't be identical, of course, but it'll happen. And you'll still have the same complaints about whatever replaces it as you do Twitter.

    I had thought that Dunning-Krueger only applied to idiots who don't know they're idiots. It turns out that it also applies to geniuses who don't recognize the limits of their brilliance.
    The link has some interesting information about how might be able to work their way out of the trap. Unfortunately it seems that like so many psychological issue the first step to overcoming it is recognizing that there's a problem and that's not easy for people who have never had their noses rubbed in their limitations like most of us have. If you read the article (it's not all that long) I'd be interested in your opinion of whether Elmo might be able to break through. :chris:
