Elon's handing out blue checks to celebrities against their will. Some lawyer friends said it might be a no-no because it makes it seem like those celebrities are endorsing Twitter Blue, even though they are very clearly against subscribing, and some are actively telling him to stop, which he is ignoring. So it's kind of fascinating to watch him just fuck himself over six ways from Sunday. What a fucking mess.

This is going to make Donald Trump angry, because there's no way he agreed to this, as he swore he'd never be back and he still promotes his own social media outlet.

Trump's contractually prohibited on using Twitter until later this year (part of his deal with Truth Social), so I don't expect him to return to the platform any time soon, if ever.

What I can see happening is that once his contractual obligations are finished, his staff will repost what he puts on Truth Social on his Twitter account. The only way I can think of Trump going back to Twitter full-time is if Musk buys Truth Social (possible, but unlikely) or if he can spin things so that he can say that the only reason Truth Social didn't succeed was that the MSM kept him down. This strikes me as the least possible thing of the two. Trump's not one to admit failure, so I can see him continuing to use the decaying corpse of Truth Social after everyone else has left.
