    Yayy my teams in
Subject to a lot of possible change.
Ive had Ronaldo as captain for the last 2 years, but not this time.
It looks like he'll stay but i just can't be sure.

Gareth Barry played and scored in Aston Villa's
UEFA Cup match today, so he probably won't be
    moving to Liverpool.

We have nine teams signed up for the Wordforge Fantasy League,
including three teams from the United States.

Deadline for the first week action is Saturday August 16,
at 11:30 AM BST. That's 5:30 AM CDT.

    Let's play football!

BTW, anyone know who the 'Premiership footballer' who was being blackmailed by the Man City youth player is? My usual sources have let me down this time... :chris:

Former Manchester City youth player Jamie Tandy
is "persuing a claim for civil damages" against Joey Barton,
for the cigar in the face incident, from 2004.

I thought this would be the best place to post this Steve McClaren interview. It's very amusing IMO.

The champ has returned to defend his crown. ;) I would wish everybody luck this coming season but I'd just be lying...
Man, is it good to have football back! Good luck to Liverpool in their neverending quest to win the Premiership, to Leyton Orient in their bid for promotion, and to ME as I aim to win the WF league again. :yes2:

I am backing Liverpool to win the Premier League,
Aston Villa to replace Manchester United in the top four,
and a resident of the U.S. to win the Wordforge League.

Opening week of the Premier League.

Xabi Alonso provided the assist for Liverpool's
    match winning goal this week.

Gareth Barry had two assists for Aston Villa.

    Liverpool should keep Alonso,
and Barry should stay at Aston Villa.

Reports have Liverpool looking at Espanyol's Albert Riera.

The 26 year-old is a true left-wing who could really help the club.

Manchester United will play Zenit-St. Petersburg
    in the Super-Cup on Aug.28.

Their Premier League match will Fulham has been postponed.

Manchester United will not have a match in game-week three
    of the Fantasy League.

Congratulations to David Beckham on his 103rd,
    and final, appearance for England.

It has been reported that Frank Lampard also participated.

Xabi Alonso came on at half-time and scored two goals for Spain,
in their 3-0 win at Denmark.

Watching the Arsenal-Twente qualifier on ESPN360.com

Good work by Walcott to get in the cross.
    Van Persie with a touch.
    Samir Nasri finishes.

    Arsenal in good shape.

Liverpool fans are quiet as Standard Liege
are controlling the match at Anfield.

    Spurs hold Chelsea 1-1.

Liverpool can take first place with a win this afternoon.
    But I don't think they'll get it.

    Aston Villa should beat Liverpool,
and challenge for the top four.

Ah, just when I was lamenting the patheticness of Spurs failing to replace Berbatov and Keane trusty Newcastle always pops up with headline stealer :diacanu:

Pav has no premiership experience and Campbell is just a kid who, if he were the biz, would not have been let away from Old Trafford. Plus, you underestimate the influence Keano had on the team. Berbs we could lose and cope with, We always knew it would happen. Keane though is a major loss.

I think I've said this before, and notwithstanding that he has a point this time, but Keegan is the biggest drama queen in English football.
And his support of that psycho bastard Barton is beyond understanding...

They (allegedly) tried to sell Owen behind his back on deadline day. Plus many other things. If I were Keegan, I'd have walked, too.

Although maybe not, since I don't have the 2 million quid he may have to pay them as compensation.

    The line-up for England tonight:

    James
    Brown
    Ferdinand
    Terry
    Ashley Cole
    Walcott
    Barry
    Lampard
    Joe Cole
    Rooney
    Heskey

I think that Capello has made the right selections,
and that England have a good chance to win.
