How do you groom your facial hair? Mutton chops? Soul Patch? Pornstache? Personally, I'm trying out the full beard look. So far it itches like crazy and all I want to do is shave, but the better half actually likes it.
More women should wear mustaches, if only in response to the emo-eyeliner crowd. I let it grow until I can grip it with a couple of fingers, then shave it off.
I can't really grow much of a 'stache--it always ends up looking cheesy. Despite that, I've tried a beard once, and a goatee several times. Currently I just keep a couple days of stubble on my chin and only shave 2x week, mostly. I like to 'stache & goatee look on me, but can't grow it decent enough to keep it.
I used to keep just a vertical bar on my chin when I was youger, then I added sideburns to the jawline. After a while I let all the hair on the knob of my chin grow along with the sideburns. Then I started doing the jaw-beard; a thick line of hair coming down from my sideburns around my jaw line and let the goatee part grow in. Had mutton-chops and a goatee for a while. Now I'm trying out the full beard. I've always wanted to do something sculpted like the evil guy on (nu)Wild Wild West.
Should I use normal face wash or actually shampoo/condition? I used to condition the goatee once a week.
That was me 11 days after the hurricane. I decided to grow a hurricane beard. I've since shaved it, the itching bothered me at first but I got used to it after about a week. I just got tired of having a beard.
That's my usual pattern, works out to about three times a week. It is the grizzled look. In the past I have done a variety of beard types: goatee with short sideburns goatee with long sideburns (to the jaw line) goatee with connecting sideburns (ie a slim beard line between the burns and the goat) full beard, nicely trimmed proto-zz top beard The thing with beards, is I like them, but I can't go the Uncle Albert route, so they end up requiring a lot more time and effort than shaving.
I usually shave, but never the upper lip. It just gets inflamed and stays that way until I let it grow out. I grow a bear at times, right now its been 2 days since shaving and I look rough.
During the spring and summer, I'm totally bald with only my eyebrows and goatee on my head. I shave every day (sans weekends) around it and once a week I run over the goatee with the 3/16" (No. 1 1/2) guard on my trimmers. During the autumn and winter I let the hair on the top of my head grow out to 3/16" and I grow my sideburns down and connect the sideburns and goatee with a thin line. The sideburns and goatee are 3/16" long and maybe 3/8-1/2" wide.
personally...as a female, I am highly attracted to gottees with sideburns...that whole wolverine thing goin on. My boyfriend has a gottee...he pretty much HAS to have a gottee cause he looks like a 12 year old without it....no joke... Some pics for examples... with gottee: without gottee: (granted, this pic was taken about a year and a half before the first one....it's still a very shocking difference and he doesnt look much different at all when he shaves it off.)
I stay clean-shaven during the week. Weekends I give my skin a break, and that allows me to see how much gray there is in my beard. So no beard for me! The current popularity of goatees strikes me as almost laughably trendy. Every other joker I see is sporting one. And you guys who shave your heads but grow a beard . . . what the heck is that about? You look like your head is on upside down!
