A friggin' Browncoat rap?! Sheesh! Will this shit ever die??? Fuck Firefly! "So the show was cancelled in an epic fail!!!!"
I think any hardcore fanboys of anything need to die. Being a gamer I've long since determined fanboys are far more destructive and annoying than the so called "haters".
Considering it got canned after 11 eps, not really. Douchebag fandoms really need to learn they do more harm than good.
Fans of a short lived sci-fi adventure tv series. Much like the fans of the tv show Caveman. What's that? Never heard of Caveman. Exactly.
Firefly was decent, but an eleven episode show does not merit official fan groups and meetings. Who was it that used to brag about how he was the leader of the local browncoats, and would host Firefly parties? Almost as pathetic as Civil War reenactments.
Um... 14 episodes, a feature film, and ongoing comic series. And getting cancelled by Fox rarely reflects much of anything about that show's actual quality, particularly when it comes to genre fare. The feeling is mutual, I assure you.
A lot of times when a show is cancelled, even if you're a fan, you can kind of understand it. Maybe it was cliche plots or weak characters. Would any of us been really surprised if Voyager had been cancelled it's first year? But this was actually a very strong show that Fox refused to support. I was glad to see it come back as a film but would have rather seen another season on TV. As for not watching it because of the cult of Joss Whedon? What the fuck is that supposed to mean? It's annoying when people go into a thread and piss on a show they've never seen.
Perhaps Mewa could book a flight to Dallas next weekend. The Dallas ComiCon is hosting a Firefly cast reunion, including Nathan Fillion, Summer Glau, and that other chick the nerdboys lust after. I'd pay good money to see Mewa get up during the q &a and troll the cast Wordforge style, beginning with a hearty "fuck Firefly!"
Did I say the show was bad? I said I hate Joss's drooling evangelical "Joss should be showrunner for everything on the planet" fanboys. And I assure you, I've seen plenty of them, hell, there are a couple in this thread.
I went to the NYC premier of Serenity. It was geek city for sure. That's when I saw some real Browncoats. I did not troll without knowing and seeing all the facts.
