Firefly must die and all the Browncoats too!!

I'm trying to reconcile these two statements....

Whedon made himself available to fans and treated them with respect so I think that's where the cult comes from. I've liked every show he's done with the exception of Dollhouse. That one was almost a parody of a Joss Whedon show.

I've seen Serenity and the first episode of Firefly (yes, the real first episode).

As I've said, I have nothing against Whedon, I'm just beyond sick of everytime something new comes out his cult saying they should give the show to him.

I'm the same way about Wolverine...I like the character OK, I just get sick of all people who want non-stop exaggerated bad-ass to be the center of the Marvel Universe.

Yes, I'm contrary when my annoyance threshold is reached.

I watched two episodes last night just to spite you.

3 times in the last year i have suggested to someone that they would love Firefly and that went to Netflix and watched it. Each of them made a point of coming back to me and singing the praises of the show. Such is more than suffice to overcome a little internet trolling.

Never seen it. I remember my Sister being obsessed with this show years ago. If they're resurrecting old sci-fi shows, how about Space, Above and Beyond?

Krieg, you should check it out. I make fun of the Browncoats, but the show really was pretty entertaining if somewhat kooky. Just imagine if you came back to this thread to thank Mewa for bringing it to your attention, letting him know how much you enjoy it.

Yes, I've seen it, yes it was good, and yes the glassy eyed "Breaking Bad is the best show EVER!" zombies can die in a fire right beside the cult of Joss.

See, Firefly is why I won't watch any science-fiction series on Fox. Fox has made a name for itself by picking up good science-fiction shows, then fucking with the show's airing order and/or timeslot until ratings tank, then flushing the show. Firefly is by far not the only show they've done it to.

I forgot, cuz he was outed right after his supposed surgery eight years ago. By then, he'd shown his ass one too many times here and it was a convenient cover, much like Ecc closing his account for "work" after a TKer posted all his embarrassing anime weeaboo/waifu pics.

Firefly was a great show, but Joss Whedon generally sucks major arse. Buffy was shite, as is most everything else he's done.

But even a broken clock gets it right twice a day...

Watched 1-2 Buffy episodes. Meh.
Watched 1-2 Angel episodes. Meh
Watched The Avengers movie. Fun, but not as great as the fanbois make it out to be.

But Firefly was entirely different beast. I loved the show, and it's one of my all-time favorite TV shows. It had the perfect balance of humor, action, space, and fantastic characters that you cared about. Even the Serenity movie, while enjoyable, didn't quiet capture the magic of the TV show, mainly through the miscasting of The Operative Character.

Oh yeah, I also LOVE Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

So while I don't worship at the feet of Whedon like some fanatics, the cancellation of Firefly will always be the most stupid thing that Fox has ever done.
