- http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,348413,00.html While I admire Mr. Carter's work with charity, especially the Habitat for Humanity which I donate old appliances and stuff from house remodels as well as volunteer time for, this trip does indeed go against the grain of current US policy. It is intellectually dishonest to say simultaneously Mr. Carter is using credibility he established with the Palestinians during his presidency in this meeting while claiming he is travelling to meet this head of a foreign organization we are at war with as the head of his own Carter Center, not as a former president. Again I have tremendous respect for the man and his work, but I can't see this as a good thing.
Carter...never met an enemy he didn't like. Yes, Habitat For Humanity is great, but damn those dictators and psychos use and abuse him like their bitch.
No real big surprise, Carter loves to flaunt his anti-Semitism so he should have a lot of common ground with his Palestinian friends.
I wouldn't call him "great". I said that he was worthy of some respect. That is due to his not being responsible for a litany of mass murder as all the others, and due to his latter-day courage to take some unpopular stances which I agree with - like this.
