This one was pretty boring. Pretty much nothing significant happened that we didn't know was gonna happen. Except Arya getting laid, and that was pretty epic. If there was ever a girl on the show that needed to get laid it was her. Nah but seriously, there were good scenes, and I generally prefer the low-key episodes to the bloodbath-with-no-content, but E1 had more content. Also why I like Blackwater - bloodbath with super quality character moments.
I wouldn't call it boring, but there are some obviously self inflicted pacing issues here. Last week, we saw so many things brushed over and tucked away. So many major developments that felt like they needed more time to breathe and settle in... but Nope!! There's only 6 episodes left! We have to get through this!! OK... Ok.. I'm on board. And this week, it felt like a filler episode. Where's Melissandre? I never once thought that the dead would get this close to Winterfell and a fleet of Red Priests and Light worshipers wouldn't be around. I just knew that High Priestess Kinvara from Volantis (Season 6) would show up again. And before I forget... What the hell is Jon thinking? Am I the only one concerned that putting the women and children into a crypt might not be the best strategy when your enemy can RAISE THE FUCKING DEAD? I think the dead Kings of Winter will be making a return next week. Maybe we'll see Ned, Catlynn, Robb and Rickon!
Did Winterfell get Dead Ned's body back? Because his head was put on a spike in King's Landing, IIRC Joffery made a point of showing Sansa it
That's be one hell of an effect for full body, no? Either way, I got mad respect for a woman who feels that comfortable with such a scene. Or as the young kids now say, "F"
So who’s dying next week? I say we all put our best guesses here now before Sunday. 100% sure their DEAD: Greyworm Brienne Theon 50/50 could go either way: Jorah Gendry Missande Tormund Those wearing Plot Armor: Jon Dany Jaimie Tyrion Arya Sansa I still think Varys is important to the plot going forward. We’ll see.
Updated @AlphaMan's list with my own predictions. 100% sure they're DEAD: Jorah Brienne Theon Beric 50/50 could go either way: Greyworm Gendry Missande Tormund Davos Those wearing Plot Armor: Jon Dany Tyrion Arya Jaimie Sansa The Hound I think Jorah dies because, after his advice to Dany to keep Tyrion as her Hand, his story is over. Brienne...probably...dies because she finally attained knighthood. Plus her dying would hit both Jamie and Tormund hard. Theon dies because of their plan to use Bran as bait. Beric dies because there's no one to bring him back to life again. I think either Greyworm or Misande may die, but probably not both, which is why I moved Greyworm to the 50/50 list. It would be more tragic for Greyworm to survive and his woman to die, I think. Davos has made enough of a point that he survived two big battles despite not begin much of a soldier that the third time may be the one that gets him. Plus his death would remove one of Jon's closest advisors. I added the Hound as having plot armor because he still has an appointment to keep with his zombie brother.
At this point, there's nothing they can't do with CGI almost perfectly convincingly, but I'm happy to hear she had the confidence to do it herself. Respect!
Great list! I missed a few... Yeah, Beric is dead... I predict a twist though... The Hound will die and there will be some magic where Beric sacrifices his resurrected life and magically transfer it to The Hound... The Hound will later die while killing his brother, thereby, completing Beric's mission to bring the mountain to justice, given to him by Ned Stark in S1. There's no way Greyworm lives after that last conversation with Missande... "Yeah, I put my retirement papers in with Khaleesi and I'm going to retire on a beach with you... After this last battle, we're out to live happily ever after!! What could possibly go wrong?" He's dead.
I wouldn't be surprised if Varys got scooped up by a dragon and ripped from ass to mouth the next episode. He's practically useless to the story and has been so for a very long time.
Unless he's the guy who's been feeding info to Cersei, like when the Dragon Queen's forces invaded Casterly Rock for example
In season 2, Littlefinger brokered a deal w Tywin to return Ned’s bones to Catlynn, who had them shipped back to Winterfell.
It's so unGame of Thrones like to have so many people exempt from dying. Here's hoping that Benioff and Weiss surprise the hell out of us next episode. I would throw one more name on the 100% sure they're dead list: George R. R. Martin Can we get a ghost writer lined up?
Guess what? I watched it again...although not a lot happened, one of the podcasts I listen to pointed out that it’s episodes like this that make the difference between Game of Thrones and a Michael Bay movie. The battles and the deaths are empty unless we care about the characters. He was correct. In the scene when Arya is asking Gendry for her weapon again, she starts throwing daggers into a post. Just behind that post and to the left, there’s a random Northener giving some pretty hilarious looks as daggers fly near him. Later when Jon meets Edd in Winterfell, he goes to give him a hug like always... and like always, Tormund intercepts Jon quite unexpectedly. second time that’s happened since Jon’s resurrection. Tormund’s very fond of Jon. Also... What the hell is Sansa & Lord Royce of the Vale cooking up? They seem to be conversing an awful lot and the conversation ends when Tyrion or Dany show up. Keep your eye on those two.
Wow. There goes everyone's theories on what's going to happen. Do they even have anyone left to fight Cersei?
Will the jewelry bring some people back. Wonder what it does? Piano game of thrones music reminded me of 7th guest midi theme.
Everyone's going to be pissed about: I'll put it in spoilers but you shouldn't be in this thread if you haven't seen the episode you bastards.....
