Game On in Iraq: Iranian Quds and Militias Suffer a, um, Setback

I’ll tell you this, my Iranian friends tell me he’s about as popular with the common man as cancer. He was a Regime favourite.

Actually I just saw a news report that immediately after the strike Pelosi was notified.

This guy has been attacking America for years in Iraq. This guy was behind the attack on the embassy Iraq.
He’s a fair target.

He’s not popular with Iranians. He was popular with the criminals running Iran and he’s popular with the people he leads in killing and terrorizing others.

Then your outlet lies, Pelosi tweeted she wasn't told.

Couldn't possibly be Pelosi lying, could it? Or just saying "I wasn't told ahead of time" and a sympathetic media spinning it as she wasn't told at all?

I can't fathom anyone who thinks any war will be "a cakewalk", or "over pretty quick".

It sure as fuck never happens in the middle East.

I suppose I mean people who are celebrating this as a victory without consideration of the wishes of the Iraqi government or the everyday people who are once again going to be caught in a crossfire.

Iran's rulers are interested in power in the region and don't want anything from the West beyond what helps them toward that goal. They certainly don't want any of our degenerate attitudes toward women, gays, or religion.

They're killing our people in Iraq. We're showing them that we'll play that same game.

Whether or not this assassination was a good move or bad, it is most definitely a significant geo-political event, quite possibly the biggest since the US invaded Iraq. The US better have a comprehensive National Security Plan in place to handle the effects.

All this while Trump has a hostage negotiator as National Security Advisor and has been cutting NSC staff due to paranoia about the Deep State.

At the same time Iran is seeing bit internal struggles between the regime and those opposed to the regime has just been given a major propaganda coup.

or maybe rightforge isn't giddy about possible war, but rather they accept the fact that one of the responsibilities/risks of being a major player on the world stage is military action of various levels depending on the situation. And unless you built a time machine nobody is getting drafted. And if you did build a time machine ya done fucked up because college kids got a student deferment when the draft was in effect. And on the personal front I've already been in a 9/11 sequel, my son served during a sequel but never had to deploy there, and my son-in-law is currently serving and may indeed have to get some sandbox action in the future. So yeah I have some skin in the game but I'm fully aware of how the real world works and accept it warts and all.
