    I have pretty much everything I want/need.

I've got plenty of AR lowers as investment opportunities should a new ban come into place. If not, I bought them cheap, so I can at least break even should a new ban never materialize.

However, I want to buy a handgun with my incoming stimulus check as a way of flipping off Uncle Sam and the Brady Bunch. I'll be willing to spend a maximum of $1,000.

But, I can't find anything that #1 - I don't already have and #2 - nothing jumps out at me as a "must have."

    Help! :sob:

I dunno what to tell the man who has everything he wants. You could always look out for a H&K USP LE in .45. If not a hand gun, how about accessories for your AR or your pistols? Then again you could buy a shit load of brass and bullets and powder and primers.

I hear a lot of folks proclaiming the new S&W M&P being the cat's ass.

Eh. He claims to hate S&W for something the previous owners did during the Clinton administration.

You got any wheelguns? Get yerself a nice .357--I like a classic, um, S&W, blued with walnut grips. That or a Colt Python in stainless with rubber Hogue grips. Or how about a Single Action Army? Or a nice concealed carry .38 snubby with a spurless hammer?

Barring that, you could pick up a holdout--the new Walther, a Kahr, or even a Kel-Tek. They're all rilly, rilly small though, so shooters with large hands tend to dislike them.

He does. As a southpaw I think the M&P is a great weapon. Personally if it were between a Glock, SA XD and the S&W M&P, I'd take the M&P (lighter than the XD, ambidextrous unlike the Glock).

There always accessories for the stuff you already have. Pick your fav handgun and trick it out with all the goodies.

Answered that one for me. Thanks. :techman:

But, I'm hearing a lot of good things about the M&P including one instructor I know saying that if I'd actually shoot one, I'd never buy another Glock.

    Got it.

    Got it.

    Got it.

Had nothing but bad experiences, including one slam-firing on me. Will never own another one.

I've heard good things about Kahr. They've come a very, very long way with their Quality Controls and Design.

But, I'm literally drowning in duty caliber weapons.

What about them? The ambi mag release? I can put an ambi mag release on a Glock in about two minutes. And, as we found out the other day, the slide release is irrelevant. :clyde:

And, to be honest, I kinda dig having the mag release on the "wrong" side. I can eject the spent mag with my middle finger on my strong hand without having to dick around with altering my grip on a double stack full-size duty weapon.

It's a softening of my stance, but even I can learn.

    Already done it.

Everything has been tuned, polished, trigger jobs, ported, night sights, etc. The only thing I don't do is engraving. Not my bag.

Y'all see where I'm going with this? :(

Well fuck. Sounds like you don't need a gun so much as you need a gun caddy. Paypal me some money and I'll box you up a nice Thai kid that can be your porter. You'll have to teach him/her some English, naturally, and since human trafficking is officially frowned upon, I'll have to be creative about what I'm sending out in a crate with air holes, but I think I can come up with something. ;)

Maybe. But, I'm leaning towards .357Sig if I'm gonna invest in what I consider a wildcat caliber that I'm not setup to reload.

The reason? A neighboring agency issues .357Sig and I can buy training ammo through their armory for $7.00 per 50 round box and I can buy LE-Only 125gr Federal HST for $12.00 per 50 round box.

I'm telling you, get a 10mm. You won't regret it. It's an expensive beast to feed, but well worth it. You can get a Witness for 400 off of Gunbroker and get the stuff to reload for next to nothing these days.

Take a look at www.10mmtalk.com for some feedback on 10mm.

That's an interesting thought. You could get a good replica Kentucky Rifle for about a grand.

Shot the S&W M&P. Liked it, but the thumb safety was easy to accidentally activate (for me). Also didn't like that to disassemble it, you have to pull the trigger at one point.

I liked the Springfield Armory .45 XD better.

Personally, I think Elwood should get one of those gigantic BFR revolvers from Magnum Research, one chambered in .45-70, so he can be better prepared for any Rosey O'Donnell onslaught.

Okay, I swear this isn't a small hands joke, but I'm just dyin' to have a Para Ordinance Warthog - it's their smallest 1911-oid .45, but with a large capacity mag. A hi-cap pocket .45.

You have to pull the trigger to disassemble the XD's as well.
