It was pretty damned good, one of the best episodes so far. Now the only thing I still want to see is Peter going full-on Super Saiyan and fucking everyone up. You just know he's gonna melt the girl who killed Kaitlin's brother.
No, otherwise she'd be haunted by the numerous people Jessica killed in the first season. Matts dad just sent her a "nightmare" of DL.
I knew I shouldn't have clicked it, but as soon as the page opened I kept scrolling so I didn't read anything- picture running through a long crowded hallway of people reminding you that your parents have sex and your eyes are closed and your cupping your ears with your hands yelling lalalalalalala, til you get to the door. That is what I just did mentally. We just got a new cable package at home and I could actually watch the second season now, but I missed every epsiode up to this point so when I was flipping through channels last night and saw the heroes banner pop up I did about the same thing I did just now, mentally.
Hiro in action is awesome. Pop. Pop. Pop. I hate that I keep hearing Lost in Space pop-out sounds in my head. That show poisoned me. Claire is finally acting just like a real teenager. Mohinder's an idiot. Nikki's so hot I can't stand it. Matt finally gets balls and aces his dad! Excellent!
Probably he didn't understand what was going on when Matt's dad made Nikki hallucinate her worst nightmare.
Seriously, they could have done all that in 4 episodes, instead of dragging it out. I thought this episode was slightly better, though. But seriously, this show is turning into all the things people hate about Lost, with the boring drawn out set up, and relatively little payoff. At first I was a little pissed when they said that they were gonna show us what happened in the 4 months after the bomb went off, thinking "Why not just show that episode as the season opener?" But then I realized they wanted to have the snake in the mailbox effect of revealing that the NPH-lookalike is still alive, and he is Adam Monroe. I bet he's the one who killed Sulu too. Was it fucking worth it, Tim Kring?
Did you watch the first season at all? While it has been slightly slower, in general it has got off to a similar start.
Season one was pretty damned slow, too. I'm not sure I would have stuck with it if I hadn't had the whole season on DVD. Sometimes, having to drag it out over that many episodes can work against you.
The first season had less characters to follow around, and seemed more focused. I mean, we knew who the villain was by the second or third episode.
I don't know if the 1st season had significantly fewer characters to follow around at this point. You had the most of the same core of main characters, plus Simone and Isaac. In terms of secondary characters, you had Eden, you had Nathan's family, you had Matt's wife, you had the FBI chick, you had Ted. You had Zach and Claire's school friends, you had Charles Deveaux. You had the Vegas criminals. You had a few mentions of Linderman in the wings. You had Thompson and Claude. You had Mohinder's friend. That seems roughly equivalent to the new characters introduced this season: Kensei/Adam Munroe, Maury Parkman, Monica/Nana/Damon, the Irish folks, Bob, Elle, West, etc.
I just want to point out what Forbin said for clarity's sake... Mohinder is an idiot. Was he not there last season? did he not pledge alligience to HRG to infiltrate The Comapany and feed him info? Not only does he put Molly back into their clutches, but he blow's HRG's cover when all he really wants is to protect his daughter from them. Helping them to stop a virus is one thing, but you don't rat out your allies. If I were him, I would've at least spoken to HRG about it before I blew his cover and the fact that I was a double agent. He's really been bugging me this season. It's always good to see Nikki in action... or not.. It's just good to see her. And I missed Monica this week... I hope she watches some more Bruce Lee flicks and opens up a can of whip ass in NOLA! I'm glad that Hiro in fuedal Japan arc is over and it seems to have payed off... His childhood hero is the bad guy this year!! Should be an intresting dynamic, but I hope they handle it better than S2 thus far. Peter seems to have his memory back... I expect to see a can of whip ass opened up by him before sweeps month is over... And hopefully Sylar and the Wonder Twins will get it together too.
I really want to see Peter just loose his shit and liquify someone. Tanks flying through the air, flaming balls of electrical ice raining down, the works. Show us why he's so important.
I'm really hoping this is part of their plan. I can't imagine Bob would be so stupid that he wouldn't be suspicious/spying on Mohinder. The guy was taking freakin' calls from HRG inside Company headquarters after all. Mohinder appearing to switch sides might get the pressure off and help him infiltrate the Company even farther. That or Mohinder's super power is being an idiot. Having Hiro back with Ando those few brief moments really illustrated how badly the Feudal Japan arc bogged down. Happy, smiling Hiro was about a millions times more fun than mopey, love-struck Hiro. I'm also hoping Adam isn't the bad guy this season. The idea of him holding a grudge for 300+ years is rather absurd. And he's certainly had an opportunity for revenge against Hiro long before now. Adam also fingered the Company as the culprit and given everything we've seen about them from letting Sylar/Petter (nearly) destroy New York to all the murders they've committed I'm more than willing to believe it.
I could see him being batshit apocalyptic-style insane for unrelated reasons, but still wanting to fuck up Hiro after finding him in the present. It's not like he can't have two goals.
I kinda do too, especially since "not dying" isn't the most awesome bad-guy power ever. We don't know for sure that this was the case. 1600s Adam knows that Hiro is from the future and can manipulate time. But he doesn't know when in the future Hiro is from, or where specifically to find him. Also, 1900s Adam was apparently locked up by the Company for some time, so even if he discovered Hiro's "identity," he might not have been able to act on it. Indeed, the threat he posed to the Nakamura family might have lead to his arrest in the first place.
Its really, really good when they realize what's wrong with a show and understand how to fix it. I'm pretty glad of it.
