If you do so make sure to use a different name, it's much easier to keep an eye on them that way. :evilpop:

It should tell you something that the High Schooler was the only one to like your spam wall.

Most everyone else has grown past the owning-the-libs-by-being-annoying school of comedy.

One of Biden’s weaknesses is that he isn’t as ideologically driven as many others. His heart is in the right place (in that he wants to use politics/government to help people) but he doesn’t really care how we get there or sweat the details. As the consensus in the party of what is possible moves, so Joe Biden moves.

As the consensus in the party of what is possible moves, so Joe Biden moves.

As the party has moved beyond neo-liberalism so has Joe Biden. On the whole his 2020 platform is more progressive than Bernie Sanders 2016 platform (due in a large part to Bernie Sanders it must be acknowledged).

He wasn’t my first or my fifth choice but I have been pleasantly surprised by the platform he is putting together and have always been secure in the team he would put together. I might not always agree with them but they will at least be competent which considering....

That's what I'm thinking too. The cabinet he could create would be really interesting to see. I keep telling my wife that Bernie is the "Biden Whisperer".

Bernie was my first choice just like last time. Kamala was my close second and I'm glad she sucked it up and the party stayed together for once because she'll be the heir(ess) apparent if they can keep this rickety Jenga apparatus together.

My order of preference, when this whole thing began, was:

    1) Harris
    2) Warren
    3) Klobuchar or Gillibrand (tie)
    5) Buttigieg
    6) Just about everybody else, including every single one of the generic 43-year-old white male congressmen who swarmed the race like locusts after all of the serious candidates were already in
    20) Biden
    21) Sanders
    22) Yang
    24) Williamson or Gabbard

It's worth noting that there really was not much daylight between the serious candidates (that is, not counting the two lunatics at 24) on any of the important issues. Most of it was stylistic -- Biden still campaigning as if it were 1987 and liberalism had to be disguised, Sanders being a provocateur and delighting in calling himself a "socialist" even when none of his policies actually fit the label. Even on health care, where the most arguments took place, everyone had the same goal and just disagreed on strategy.

To be fair, we talked a lotta shit about TK in the past, too. Especially me

The fact is, we've probably had more people choose to tuck tail and leave over not being able to be blatantly racist than we've actually banned over Rule 8. And even those were cunts whose schtick was stale before the original move to vBulletin such as Tasvir.

No board I've been apart of gives as much room for one to hang themselves than this one. And Castle's stupid ass incriminated his own fool self by saying his obnoxious routine was a it to troll or own us or whatever the fuck it was. I thought gul's ban was a bit much at the time but he's more than earned it now.

Welcome here, btw. Hope you stay for a while.

It is an old and common trick to pretend that those who disagree with you are necessarily less intelligent than you are. It is the root of all the most common insults thrown around in debate, and is really just a very sloppy and childish ad hominem fallacy.

It may be that your opponent is ignorant (in the actual sense of the word: he doesn't know about some salient aspects of the issue), or inconsistent, or not paying attention, or something like that. Those are all valid points for disagreeing. But IQ is not. It's Trump's most common way of trying to show he's always right, though, and it is used by a lot of other people as well.

When I see those kinds of terms, I immediately take the poster less seriously, because I know that if you have to introduce an ad hominem fallacy into your argument, you have weakened your argument considerably.

Amaris claims to be an anarcho-communist, not a communist.

AFAIK, armalyte is indeed the only WF poster who openly identifies as communist.

Painting "the left" as Marxist and Communist is ridiculous. There's more centrism in democratic theology than anything radical.

Umm . . . Marxism and communism are by definition "the left." Fascism is "the right." Those two philosophies define the political poles, altho it is true that pushing either side to its logical conclusion results in totalitarianism.

The construction of the political spectrum in this simplistic way is largely a propaganda tool for the people who place themselves in "the centre", pretending to be all nice and reasonable. The phrases "right" and "left" have their uses, but we shouldn't take this stuff too seriously.

I remember once provoking outrage here some years back when I noted that the political spectrum should actually be a circle instead of a line with fascism and communism meeting at the bottom.

All Marxism is "the left", but not all "left" is Marxism.

The farthest left in mainstream American politics is not even close to Marxism. Not even in the same ballpark. Over here, it would be considered centrist, semi-directed capitalism.

If we have to use labels I'm for "Democratic Socialism" to describe a lot of whet the "left" practices in America.

Not so hot on what the "right" practices. Don't like sexism, misogyny, racism, xenophobia, class warfare and the like.

In my ideal world, the corporatist Democrats would be "the right", and people like AOC and Liz Warren would be "the left".
And Trumpism would be fucking illegal, because they're Nazis.
That shit needs to be stomped back into the laughed at kook fringe where it belongs.
