I find this very interesting. @TheLonelySquire have actively offered derision, rudeness and hate in this thread towards the people commenting in it for defending homosexuals. Dayton also maintains that he has the right to insult others and regard them as inferior. He maintains the right to be rude and talk to people as if they are nothing.

1) They are human beings

2) They harm nobody

3) they are equal to us for the two reasons above

In another commentary I read on how to treat unbelievers, it said that unbelievers are to be regarded as "sick", and so they need compassion and care. That Jesus would treat them equally of deserving of support for this reason. This would arguably apply to both gays and to those who defend/befriend them. I'm really beginning to think you and many of your "ilk" (to use your a favourite expression of yours) have no idea of of your own religion. You shold be treating me with the utmost respect and compassion, irrespective of what I say, for this very reason that I should be persuaded by you to see the light and find God. Instead you create loathing. Push people away. Talk to them as if they are inferior. How is your approach Christian?

As a man who is not religious I can only ever claim to have read The Bible literally. But the more Christian commentary I read the more it seems to be at odds with the hate, discrimination and rudeness you and @TheLonelySquire promote. What I get is a message of love and compassion from countless Christians towards nonbelievers. But I also see a dissenting, and not insignificant minority, like you two, who twist religion to justify your own attitudes and use it as an excuse to be nasty to others and to promote hate and division (and I'm not specifically referring to homosexuals with that). That's just like Islamists compared to Muslims. Just like Orthodox Jews compared to moderate Jews. It just reinforces how farcical religion is, because when it boils down to it, it's just spin doctors like you taking an idea and twisting it to explain away your arsehole-ish actions.
