@The Night Monkey why is this dumb? Do you really think the government handed Japanese their land back in 1945 with a pat on the back and a "My bad about that, here's your life back now, kthnxz"?
Oh, little monkey. Do not leap for the high branches, for you are most likely to fling yourself out of the tree ass first.
Use your big boy words, buddy. Preferably in a sentence like you would for your homework assignment. Well gee, you sure learned me real good with that one! Wow such wisdom.
Good show! Give 'er one for me. She neg reps about 80% of my posts but somehow never seems to manage posting a reply, which is kind of sad because one time she actually included a few words that together almost formed an idea. [but then I'm an optimist, it was probably accidental]
This goes down to the same lesson in The Family documentary. There is no actual ideology, moral, or ethical values to their system. There is only the team name. The team can tolerate anything and even completely shift moral and ethical sides as long as the team name remains the same. The team can have radically different people on it as long as it has the same name. The team members can do anything and be forgiven as long as they maintain the team name. This is why Trump and the radical right terrorists are forgiven. They give the team power. The radical right are a very loyal voting block that are there for republican candidates and don't waiver. Trump is good because no matter what he did he beat the democrats and hillary. Trump has the power so they back him because they want to be on the "winning" team. It does not matter what they do to win, or what they do with their winning as long as they win. This is why you are stupid if you believe modern republicans like @Paladin have any honor, ethical, or moral values they stand for. It is just about winning.
They said this in the doc, but Jesus is just a mascot to rally around. It doesn’t matter if you don’t practice his teaching as long as you invoke his name, you’re all good. It’s very Daytonesque.
WTF? Hitler loosened gun controls and Stalin took power with support from an armed populace. There's actual signs of real tyrannical behaviour patterns happening within the US right now and it's gun advocates who are actively supporting it.
Yeah that’s the polite way to say it What they were really targeting was imbeciles who are easily swayed by shitty memes
I don't like resorting to insults but this is one occasion I feel it's entirely correct. When you lack a coherent argument, post a meme. It's become the MO of the very people most influenced by them and is the digital equivalent of shouting slogans. I'll admit one thing about @Marso, when he talks about taking up arms against the government I'm more convinced than when @Paladin does. It actually seems like here's someone who might actually try to make the hypothetical real, but that's not exactly a compliment.
Remember when Republicans heroically liberated the camps? Boy, that sure showed FDR. And they've had that to be proud of for generations. Oh, wait,...yeah..
I don't make a lot of predictions, but I'm pretty confident saying neither gun confiscation nor socialism are going to be happening anytime soon, no matter the outcome of the next election.
very true. The US doesn't completely lose their shit after elections. 99 percent of the voters go on about their daily lives for the most part.
Nice dodge there. So, should the Japanese--who collectively owned and worked so many fields in the West that we had to go into rations specifically because we had locked them all up--have taken up arms against the government for what is one of the most clear violations of the all holy Constitution in the 20th century?
