Pisses me off that I get excellent in everything but a course that doesn't make any sense.

I thought the same thing at first, but in hindsight, the course actually did make sense...at least the one I ran did.

They took everything they taught in the class, and put it in a practical situation. Shooting on the move. Moving to cover. etc.

It was just a lot more chaotic in the combat course is all...but it was all there.

My main problem was that as soon as the buzzer went off, I temporarily forgot everything I learned.

Well, granted I saw bullet holes in one target and thought I had nertralized the threat.
That was the previous shooters.. efforts. I think I would have gotten good but for that one.

I've thought about it, and come to the reason I did so poorly in the combat course: I was freaked out on ammo conservation from my earlier drills. I had six magazines through the entire course, but I felt like I was always playing catch up. I just didn't put enough lead out in the combat course.

Your extractor broke? Was it an external extractor? If so, get Kimber to replace the entire slide with one with an internal extractor.

Yes, it broke. I'm calling them tomorrow morning and overnighting it to them. They will... most likely replace the extractor.

Which is nice, because I was going to get the entire slide refinished anyways. :P

So they're just going replace the external extractor? Or are you getting an internal extractor? I ask because Kimber almost ruined their reputation with their external extractors. They actually stopped making them cause it got so bad.

Word on the street is that when you get a failure on an external extractor and send your slide to them, they send you back a slide with an internal extractor.

This is good for me because I won't have to get my slide refinished. :) I have a duo tone aluminum frame, and my frame's finish is great.

    Get what I'm saying?
