The whole Biden Bro thing is disappointing, but not unexpected. Obama did not change the US when he was elected. He sort of kept things going as they were. Biden was more republican than he was, so why would I expect things to reach back to even pre-trump levels under him? That is why I never supported him. I see now that his people just wanted to do the bare minimum and pretend something great was going to happen while they cling to what they have and go back to being anally raped by the system. They like to pretend they give to the needy while they really give to charities that just collect money to pay the rich and drop little bits into actually helping people. There are people who want to do things, but the over all consensus is lip service and pretending we did great things. This does not just apply to politics, but also to life. If ten put in the effort he does for repping me into actually doing something he would actually be a decent poster. I could have come here and played female and maybe someone would have figured it out, but I give people that because it lets me know who the lazy morons are. There is a bit of a disappointment at the trolling level, but really the Biden Bro group is who they always were. Kids in cages did not matter when Bush set up the NHS and ICE outside of our police system so they did not have to abide by the same regulations law enforcement and corrections has. They overlooked it as Obama enhanced it and made it worse. They yelled a lot when trump made it a lot worse, but decided putting someone in who would actually do everything in their power to make it better was way to socialist. So we got Biden. Biden is the vast majority of America, and that is the root cause of all of America's problems because the country could be amazing for most of it's people instead of just an elite few.

There's a lot to go through here. @Amaris, I see that you posted some links when I said "citation needed" a few pages back, and I will look at them. Didn't want you to think I was being dickheaded. To gently steer the conversation back on topic, I agree that open borders (regardless of what country we're talking about) are the way to go. However, some level of processing is going to be needed no matter what the American government decides. I admit that I do like the idea of putting people up in hotels, but @14thDoctor has a point that unsupervised minor children will need to be...well, supervised. But let's be real here, all of this would require a massive amount of social spending and New Deal-levels of government job creation for the inevitable influx of immigrants that would ensue if the borders were opened. Even with the borders as they are now, the situation is well beyond the ability of charities to fund adequately. A robust government response is needed (I think I just made @Uncle Albert faint). Is Biden the president for that kind of response? No. I admit that. Even if he was, would he have the support of even a Democratic-majority Congress? No. This country is not going to change its immigration policy anytime soon. So I admit that even if @Amaris is wrong about policy decisions made in the past, she's right that the situation on the ground right now is untenable. I feel like we know what needs to be done, but...it's not going to happen. So now what? Starcream sounds like a Transformers porn name.
Yes, it would take some time to set up what would be needed in some cases. The problem I have with that excuse is it is throwing the baby out with the bathwater because we are just avoiding that road entirely because it would be hard. Is the US putting together something that would use shelter and services we have built to do this? We have a ton of people out of work. We have the ability to supervise things with cameras that are a dime a dozen. We have the rooms and facilities sitting there because the rich would rather them rot than be used. We even know the problem is there because it has been there for decades and yet we do nothing. So that is just an excuse because Biden and the dems have their solution of cages and are using them and deportation. I am understanding about it takes time, but we are stopped and not planning on going down that path so it will never be done. As for the kids, if you have food, water, shelter, and some care there most of them are going to stay safe while you find out where they can go. The idea that these are little ninjas who are going to disappear into the night as soon as they can to rape and pillage our people is a right wing lie. They are kids and if they have food, water, and adults helping them they do not need such cages. Yes, we should supervise them to make sure they do not play in traffic, but if we make the place nice most are going to stay around. We treat them like prisoners wanting to escape. I will admit that treatment will make humans want to escape, but if we approached it from a more reasonable stance and actually started setting things up right there would be much less problem and need for cages. The reality is as with most animals the use of cages results in the need for more cages. Humans are not like animals so we do not need to go down that path.
