There is actually a small chance that might happen with Kamala. Kamala is in the dem elite area and might freeze her out, but maybe she will swoop in and help a sister out after what happened to her. It is not a deal breaker if she doesn't, but if she does I will be watching and it will really go a long way to convince me she means what she says when she gets into office.

I don’t know that’s the slam the authors think it is. That’s literally just describing their worldview. It’s not even “you’re pathetic,” because they actually believe they are missing out on opportunities by being white men or women unwilling to sleep around to get to the top. Mike lost out to his friend, but was okay with it because he believed his friend got the job because Blackness ticked the affirmative action quota.

I'd think it's that progressives tend not to consider-let alone weaponize- inclusivity practices or womens' sexual pasts and prowess as tipping the scales. It's like we presume merit or something.

The smugness comes from the assumption that the all people believing in the DEI conspiracy or whatever you want to call it are themselves mediocre failures. It's reducing racism and sexism down to "they're jealous losers." That's smug.

The reason we have DEI and quotas in the first place was because people were hiring whiter people over qualified and better black people and women due to racism and sexism. We had to force the bigots to hire blacks and women or else they wouldn't.

8 years ago america elected the worst sexist idiot in history to the presidency over a women because of sexism. 4 years later an old and near dead white racist and sexist got the dem nod over a much better black woman in the dem primary.

The ideas that qualified white people are losing out to unqualified DEI hires is a lie that has never had any backup. It is always some village idiot white guy claiming they did not get hired over some woman or black guy. This is because there are always white male hires. The only white males who do not get hired are the FFs and UAs. If employers are always chosing from the top then quotas only make sure qualified black people are chosen over bottom of the barrel whites. When you have a diverse group of people for a limited number of jobs, then it is still the worst of the worst getting trimmed.

I have never heard an intelligent white person telling me they were overlooked for a black person. I have always heard that line from some village idiot who I wouldn't trust taking care of a dead dog because he might break it while improperly treating it like a couch at JD Vance's house.
