No. I’m not saying Jews are poisoning the water & turning the frogs gay. These are well-documented lobbying groups who exert a tremendous amount of influence over US foreign policy in the Middle East. That’s why politicians say Israel is our greatest ally even though they couldn’t name a single benefit that the US receives from Israel. Because bribes. This is the propaganda arm of the military-industrial complex. Just like the NRA has a lot of influence over 2nd amendment policy, so the Israel lobby influences Middle East policy.
No, you are saying that they control the political stance of a hundred million voters to the extent that those voters' decisions are no longer their own moral responsibility.
No. I’m saying we live in a plutocracy in which meaningful decisions are not conferred upon the people. Your side believes this too — you’re apparently just too myopic to recognize this because your primary objective is to win the argument. Many leftists boycott Israel for this very reason.
Re-electing Bush wasn't meaningless; electing Obama next changed the policy in Iraq. Even if elections were meaningless, they would still tell us what the voters chose, i. e. the Christians chose supporting the war in 2004. And even if the warmongers in charge were bought of, they were still bought off warmongers that profess Christian beliefs. And no, I don't believe that the Israel lobby successfully determines the whole of US foreign policy, and they certainly do not control the military industrial complex. Nobody does; that's why it is a complex.
The only difference between red and blue is the narrative. Their policies were “strikingly” similar. As in drone strikes.
Again, to substantiate your original claim, one of those two would have to not be a Christian. In order to then prove your additional claim, you would have to show that the continuity you describe is determined -- not influenced -- by Israel. In reality, both those Presidents are Christians, and the continuity in their murderous policies is a function of the military industrial complex. Which was my point: Some very few Christians murder lots of people, and while they claim that this is a function of their religion, it actually isn't. At no point is this "the fault of the Jews" (tm 1933).
The policies may not have been as different as you (or I) would have liked, but they were different in significant ways.
