I'm planning a great pumpkin massacre myself this next weekend, but there won't be any automatic weapons involved.

I used to carry an Uzi in Israel. I wouldn't let a kid near one no matter what supervision they were under. Drop one of those things and off it can go.

I dunno. My uncle had a semi auto uzi. They always seemed heavy to me, and very controllable. I think I was like ten when we shot it?

In fact, if the boys father is neutered in some way we could have a retroactive Darwin award on our hands.

The definition of evolution is not passing on your genes to the next generation, its having your next generation pass on theirs ('viable offspring' must reproduce in order to be classed as viable).
So the father has pulled off the perfect darwin award.....

Isn't biological success surviving long enough to reproduce? Wouldn't think a lineage's end would deem every ancestor a Darwin award winner.

No, if you give birth to infertile offspring you are not a biological success evolutionarily speaking.
Its only when your offspring successfully reproduce that you are considered a successfull member of a species... in evolutionary terms.

So his son was infertile? Seems to me he probably was fertile, but wasn't old enough to mate.

No, thats not what i meant.
The darwin award goes to the father not the son.

Still, couldn't the father have future offspring?

^You know the article says only that an adult was supervising him, not his dad.

My joke was the father was an idiot that didn't deserve to have offspring or see his offspring have any of their own because he allowed an 8 year old to shoot a fully automatic Uzi. Thus the father being neutered or killed would stop him from having offspring and the fact that his son died would make it retroactive. Stop making something funny, somthing tiring.

    Your post isn't at issue.

    Subjective statement on both counts.

In Darwins terms its not enough to produce offspring, those offspring must be 'viable'.
Think of a donkey and a horse, they can produce offspring (mule) but it isnt viable, so they (as a mixed species parent) are not a biological success

#1 - Muzzle climb on a full-auto Uzi is a bitch. Back in the stone-age, we used a combination of full-auto UZI's and full-auto folding Galil's on the SWAT team before switching to M4's.

#2 - The only time I've ever let a child shoot a Class III weapon, I put a grand total of 3 rounds in the magazine just to prevent something like this.

    Galilon?

I've never seen it spelled that way. Is that the proper spelling? Is Galil just short for that?

I know very little about it other than it's based on a Kalashnikov..

...and for years I thought that one was pronounced Kalishinov.

    OOh I get it.

You can combine a Galil, an UZI, a Desert Eagle, and a Tavor, and they create.........GALILON!!!!!!!
