I have read little Strange. I feel like I love the concept but have rarely found a good story. If anyone can recommend a good run or storyline, that would be great.
+1 Strange Tales 126 to the last Ditko (first cover) 146 combines to form the only real Marvel 'saga' until the 70s with stuff like Kree Skrull War, Avengers/Defenders x-over or Starlin's sagas. No x-overs, but by saga I mean multi-part story that even when there was a 'standalone' issue, it was part of a more substantial, underlying story arc (and they were only around 9-10 pages each, at the time).
Strange confirmed to be in Infinity War. http://www.darkhorizons.com/cumberbatch-confirms-infinity-war-involvement/
I've just learned that Marvel wanted Cumberbatch all along, but he had a scheduling conflict, because he was playing Hamlet onstage, so Pheonix was one of three other choices, and they wanted him the most, and they obviously wanted 2 films for summer as is their usual pattern, but they finally relented on that, and got Cumberbatch, but later, and THAT'S why Strange is coming out in November.
Yes, although, now that I think about it, there's a discontinuity there. When we see Logan at the end of The Wolverine, he's in the regular present day (circa 2013). But when DoFP picks up, the world is decidedly different: cities have been destroyed, mutants have been hunted down or herded into camps, Sentinels are everywhere. Such radical change wouldn't happen overnight, so there has to be a pretty large time gap between the two films (evidenced by the fact that Logan has grey hair in DoFP).
What Chardee said. "The Last Stand", actually starts "sometime in the future", and they're already fighting Sentinels in the danger room, then "The Wolverine", seems to pick up just a year or so later, then "The Wolverine", ends with something about Trask on the TV, so the Sentinal future was already breathing down their necks in the background.
Wasp is going to be in Avengers 4. http://www.darkhorizons.com/evangeline-lily-confirms-avengers-4-role/
And if you're wondering when Marvel will make a misstep, this might be your answer. (Video at the link.)
*Cumberbatch steps into the scene, breaking the 4th wall like Rod Serling* Cumberbatch- *Looking right into camera* that's right, I'm Viagra.
That would be a misstep except no Marvel movie fan is ever going to see it. Marvel's just trying to get dates, girlfriends, and wives of Marvel fans inclined to see the film.
I was looking forward to the "intergalactic road trip" coming from Dr. Strange but if its also in Thor then Im game for that too.
Dr. Strange theme! Think Marvel scores were getting repetitive? Well, they went different with this one!
And suddenly I'm reminded of my pot smoking college days when I thought albums like this were profoundly deep and could save all of humanity somehow.
That's why it's awesome! What other superhero has a prog-rock epic for a song? What other superhero has black light posters?
