Apparently, on the latest episode of the Empire podcast, Joss Whedon really unloaded on Marvel. He claims that they forced him to put a number of things in the movie that he didn't want, says the rejected script for Ant-Man was the best one ever written for a Marvel movie, and just had nothing nice to say about them at all.
I think it's reeeeally stupid of him to be burning that bridge. Save it for a tell all book in the 2020's maybe, but not now.
The "Civil War", cast and synopsis has been released. It's going to have Cap, Iron Man, Black Widow, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, War Machine, Hawkeye, Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, and Thunderbolt Ross. (and of course, Spider-Man, but he hasn't been casted yet) http://www.superherohype.com/news/3...tain-america-civil-war-synopsis-confirms-cast
This will hopefully end the usual "but wouldn't X just come along and help save the day" whining Ah wait, who the fuck am I kidding?
Apparently not, but remember this is supposed to be a Captain America movie, not an Avengers movie, even though it looks like it is an Avengers movie.
Not really...you know what happens when they believe their own hype? They turn into George Lucas in his later years.
Doesn't Spider-Man kind of have to be in Civil War? Because which of the other heroes would even be affected by a superhuman registration act (assuming that will be the cause of the conflict)? Captain America - everyone already knows Steve Rogers is Cap Iron Man - Stark announced he was Iron Man in his first movie War Machine & Falcon - worked for the U.S. military, identity already known Thor - is just Thor, no secret identity Vision - same, no secret identity Black Widow & Hawkeye - no superhuman abilities and besides, they are SHIELD secret agents So we're left with Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, Ant Man and Spider-Man. We already know Hulk won't be in the movie, so that leaves only four... and possibly Winter Soldier...
Marvel just finally revealed the identity of female Thor in the comics... ....they HAVE to have her in phase 4 of the movies now. Because...
Awesome. I like how Marvel is lining up A-list actors (Redford, Michael Douglas, William Hurt, etc.) to play significant roles. Al Pacino said he'd had discussions with them; I'd love it if he turned up somewhere.
A2 - Age of Ultron is getting an extended blue ray with alternate ending: http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/04...et&utm_medium=Web&utm_campaign=Zergnet_504514 Alternate ending - can you say
If revealing identities isn't a focus then what's the point of doing civil war? We've already seen the good guys fight each other plus without fantastic four and wolverine you have a readers digest version of civil war at best.
Regulation seems to be the plot point - do powers mean people stop being people are instead tools of government?
