Does the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno Hulk show fit in at all in any way into the canonuity of the current Marvel TV Universe?
Um, no. Ferrigno had a cameo in the MCU Hulk movie, and Netflix-verse connects to MCU. Bout as far as it goes.
There is a bit of connection. The 2008 Incredible Hulk has a flashback origin story which bears some similarity to the TV show (though Betty and Thunderbolt Ross aren't present in the TV show) and the soundtrack uses a few notes of the melancholy TV show theme.
I wish I knew why costume designers feel compelled to add all those extra little greeblies to classic costumes.
I was thinking about this last night, when we were discussing the Flash's movie costume. I think it's simply this: if they made the costumes like they are in the comics, they'd look pretty dull. Comic book artists designed costumes that were easy to draw. But a spandex unitard just doesn't have much visual interest on the big screen.
Aaaand with one lowkey image of their hero at rest, Marvel once more blows DC and their set of epic heroic images right out of the water, effortlessly.
IF, 4 episodes in. It's good. Not understanding the critical panning it gets. Yes it's a bit lighter but I guess that comes with the character? Not watching comic shows for deep thoughts, though. Entertainment is required and entertainment is delivered. Of the four shows, the only one I couldn't stand was JJ. Dunno why, just doesn't work for me. Never took the time to watch it beyond episode 2
Consider giving that one another shot some time. I thought it was terrific. Liked it better than either season of DD, though I liked DD (particularly Season One) quite a lot.
Like I said at the time, by the time it ended I didn't want it to end, I could have plowed through 40 episodes. Opposite problem with Iron Fist, when it ended, I was like "uhff, that's done. ".
Medusa with a shaved head?!?!?!? Is this so they can CGI the hair back on, or...are they going to shorn her as a plot device to save money??
I would expect some kind of cap with reference marks on it if they were going to CGI the hair in. But who knows? Maybe it starts off short and then "poofs" out into classic Medusa mode.
I'd say Iron Fist was a failure. I ended up liking Madam Gao much more than Danny. As in someone to trust and want to spend time with. Still worth watching.
This season on Shield, Aida re-incarnates in the framework as Madame Hyra. The plot to next season is, they're stuck in the framework (Marvel-verse-ese for Matrix), and in that world, Captain America and Black Widow failed, and Hydra won in the events of "Winter Soldier".
"New Warriors", coming to Freeform! http://www.darkhorizons.com/freeform-orders-marvels-new-warriors-series/ Squirrel Girl!!
Some easter eggs in the video. One gives an IP address for this NY rag. This in turn has some interesting links. Squirrel Girl?
She can talk to Squirrels, and has the proportionate strength and leaping ability of a squirrel, which actually puts her in the Spider-Man range. Her power set is kinda goofy, but she's plucky and lovable, and is like the Forrest Gump of Marvel, in that she's gotten herself everywhere, and met everybody. In the comics, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are married, and had a baby, and Squirrel Girl is their babysitter. Getting her on screen, and integrated into the MCU/MTVU has kind of been a fan dream. Not as big a fan dream as getting Fantastic Four into the MCU, or having a She-Hulk Netflix show, but it's on the list.
I love the Squirrel Girl theme song, seen in a recent Deadpool crossover: Squirrel Girl, Squirrel Girl! She's a human and also a squirrel! Can she climb / up a tree? Yes, she can, / easily!
