Yes I agree, militias should be well regulated. Militias are not required for the people to have a right to bear arms.
If they are part of an organized militia, yes. You and I might be a potential militia member as citizens, but we are not part of an organized militia.
So if you aren't part of an organized militia you must not have a right to bear arms. Can't have it both ways.
The right to bear arms is not tied to the militia. That's not what the second amendment says, but we've been over this multiple times.
It is always, ALWAYS about the grift with Republicans. https://twitter.com/acyn/status/1592322788785762305?s=46&t=5DlN5jBLyaPIyyBo-8i5jg
Why include them in the same amendment if they aren't related? Why include them in the same sentence if they aren't related? Why put the militia part first if it's not related?
Actually I do because the Supreme Court has left it up to the states to decide what limits, if any, there should be on abortion and last time I checked, murder hasn’t been legalized in any state. So you can tell me I don’t get a say until you’re blue in the face and it still doesn’t make it true. But you knew this already and just want to be an ass.
Do you ever bother to actually listen to what Tulsi has to say or is it just easier to call her a grifter simply because she appeared on a tv show? Don’t bother answering, it was a rhetorical question.
Well, I was close. Close, because I guess we can't technically call her a Fox News Democrat (though she still serves the same purpose in practice).
Ah "abortion is murder" he actually said that shit. Well, there's all kinds of killing your side doesn't consider murder. Like shooting a home intruder. I think a womb is more intimate and personal than a house. Hell, some states let you hunt and kill teenagers, and you get to say the magic spell "I felt threatened". I think between womb invasion, and feeling threatened, there's a whole lotta wiggle room there. Certainly enough for all of Herschel Walker's girlfriends.
The results of the second round in that race will be really interesting. I had assumed the special election was a fluke -- that people weren't used to RCV yet, and that Begich's supporters, once they realized that not stating a second choice could lead to a Democrat winning, would go ahead and put Palin second even if they didn't like her that much. But Peltola significantly improved on her performance from the special election to the regular election (from 39% in the first round to 47%). Last time, about 50% of Begich's votes went to Palin, 30% went to Peltola, and 20% were exhausted. Even if Palin got 70% of Begich's ballots this time, that wouldn't even lift her to Peltola's first-round number. If my quick-and-dirty math is right, Palin needs about 94% of Begich's supporters to have ranked her second in order to win.
Hang on, that math was based on that screencap, which is out of date. Let me try it with the most recent numbers...
TIL that Blake Masters is a fan of the Unabomber. Probably didn’t go over well with voters. https://www.vanityfair.com/news/202...where-peter-thiel-is-placing-his-biggest-bets
NEW: On the House floor at noon, Pelosi will say in a speech crafted in part by Jon Meacham that she intends to pass the torch to the next generation of leadership but will stay on as a backbencher to help guide future leader Hakeem Jeffries https://twitter.com/tarapalmeri/status/1593253538012225537?s=46&t=XZO9ifL7uMO6fn9OwvF6nQ The end of an era.
She also had said she considered not running again even if the Dems retained the House, as her husband's brain trauma is debilitating and she needed to spend time with him.
"I have enjoyed working with three presidents." -- Nancy Pelosi, who has served as Speaker of the House under four presidents. The woman is a master of throwing shade.
