Back when I first got into LE, we had a list of sidearms and we could buy one of five weapons. I started out with a Beretta 92FS. It didn't take me long to figure out that I absolutely hated it. I have no problem with Beretta's quality, but IMHO, the ergonomics of the 92FS are the worst of any pistol I've ever held. So, as soon as I saved the duckies, I ditched that and bought a factory nickled P226 with factory night sights. I carried that Sig at work for 12 years. That should say enough right there. Let me toss out a tip, though. Don't buy SIG branded magazines. You're throwing money away. MECGAR makes the SIG branded mags for SIG. Poke around online and get their 18-round flush fits.
The P226 was everything I expected and hoped for. We had a great day shooting - the factory sights worked great for me. My first shot was a bit high on center (on the 9), the next was a bit low (on the lower 9) and the third shot was near-center of the black. After a while having gained some comfort, instead of the police-grip I tried some one-handed shots. A little shaky still. Matt had a great time too - we did a few boxes each, and I knew which ammo to buy at Walmart because of some other thread somewhere around here that had great recommendations. Thanks again to all you guys for getting me to this point so smoothly with all the Campforge threads. I'm likely to become an enthusiast.
