I've explained my reasons for defending President Trump though I never voted for him and loathe him in almost all respects.

And I loathe the Democrats/liberals/progressives for making me feel I have to defend such a person.

But the bottom line is forcing President Trump out of office would be far more damaging than anything he has done or will do as president.

Disagree. Can you really trust Trump to make the right decision in a crisis? Especially considering he won't even listen to his own advisors if they aren't praising him and kissing ass.

As much as I disagree with Pence on almost everything, I have more faith in him not to blow up the world through sheer ego and incompetence.

If this all turns out to be true, the fall out from the right will be epic.

If this all turns out to be a big fat nothing burger, the fall out from the left will be epic.

On election day, when it was clear that Trump had one, I understood the best possible outcome would be:

    1. He gets a conservative appointed to SCOTUS.
    2. He gets impeached and kicked out of office and Mike Pence becomes President.

    #1 is complete.
    #2 is in progress.

    I am a happy camper.

I'm sure plenty of Republicans are embarrassed by Trump. But at the end of the day, what matters to them is the ability to control a woman's uterus and to have unfettered access to guns at all times. Obstruction of justice and lying in general might have been concerns during the Clinton administration, but with Trump in charge they take a back seat.

I am fine with a woman doing whatever the want with her own uterus. It's the infanticide thing against her own son or daughter that I am generally against.

If someone can figure out a way of getting a baby out of a woman's uterus without the most ghastly form of dismemberment and murder imaginable, I'd be willing to talk.

Enforcing the constitution is more damaging then having a criminal President who obstructs justice? :wtf:

No it's not, and I can prove it.
What's the difference between performing a late term abortion, or 2, or 3, or 10, or 100, and dropping a bomb from a plane onto a hospital full of kids?
    None.
Do you sweat the "collateral damage", from Iraq and Afghanistan?
    Nope.
If you do, you never mention it.
    All right then.
It's not a moral value you actually hold to, it's just noise from your mouth you've been brainwashed to regurgitate.
Glad we sorted that one out.

    Yes. And I've explained why.

Forcing President Trump out of office will make the United States damned near ungovernable in the future.

No election will ever be accepted as final. Every election will be just another spark for legal action and "resistance at all costs".

Perhaps there won't be a real crisis. There were not any big ones during the Obama Admin. that ring a bell.

If Trump's goal was to "obstruct justice," he's done a piss poor job of it, considering the "investigation" is ongoing and is now reportedly focused on his personal behavior. So how much "obstructing" could he have really done?

    That's a hell of a gamble.

The way I see it, the president's most important job is to make the BIG decision when it needs to be made. The second most important is to be the public face and voice of the nation. Trump fails miserably at both, which is why he needs to be removed. Obstruction of justice is merely a pretext, albeit one he was kind enough to gift wrap for us.

Oh look, the "lawyer" doesn't know the law.

Legally, attempting to obstruct justice is the same as successfully obstructing justice.

There weren't any 'big ones' b/c that's the whole point. Adults make sure potential crises don't turn into real ones.

Off the top of my head = Turkey shooting down the Russian jet and the Iranians capturing a US Navy ship and crew were both potential flash points.

How has President Trump "failed miserably at both" given unless I've missed the news he hasn't had a "BIG decision" to make.

And no, that stupid Paris Accord is hardly a big decision.

By surrounding himself with bootlickers and unqualified amateurs, continually ignoring and undermining the few people on his staff who know what they're doing, and trashing the intelligence services when they tell hin something he doesn't want to hear. If he gets a report of an imminent Russian invasion of the Baltics, how do we know he won't just say, "Fake news!" :marathon:

I agree he is incompetent but attempting to obstruct justice is a crime even if the criminal is an incompetent.
