So yesterday the SCOTUS ruled against a Kentucky county clerk who was refusing to issue any marriage certificates unless she could illegally discriminate against same sex couples. Before this numerous lower courts all ruled that the dumb bigoted trash of a woman legally had to issue marriage certificates to any couple who legally qualified yet this morning, despite the supreme court ruling, she was refusing to follow the court ruling and was still refusing to let gay people turn in their paperwork.

You have no right to use the powers of your public office to unlawfully discriminate against members of the public. This piece of filth either needs to do her job, all of her job, including the parts she doesn't like, or she needs to get a new job. Why the fuck wasn't she fired long ago?

Ranting and hate mongering aside, yeah, time to fire her.

As a gov't employee it's your job to implement policy, not decide it.

I am reminded of how right wing conservatives refused to enforce the SCOTUS's order to desegregate schools. It appears some groups never change their spots.

She is making a stand on conscience. I don't agree with her stand but it is her right to do so. That said, her stand carries consequences, not the least of which should be removal from the office she holds.

She can't be fired any more than Obama can. It's an elected position. Removing her can be done by the Kentucky legislature, but they're not currently in session. A judge might put her and her staffers in jail for contempt, though.
